this was somewhere between a regular american ipa a dipa, which is very nice considering the abv. a hazy apricot/amber in color. off-white creamy head and lacing. aromas of toffee and citrus with some resiny pine lurking beneath. a moderate malt sweetness is followed by a lingering, pleasant bitter finish. well balanced. medium in body with a nice creamy mouthfeel. this is a very drinkable ipa, too bad they don't sell it in sixers...if so i might buy this when stores are out of alpha king.

Vintage 2015

A: Pours a burnt orange color with 2 fingers of head that slowly fades down to a thin cap that leaves some good lacing

S: Citrus and pine up front to start things off, along with some toasted maltiness and caramel notes. A bit floral underneath

T: Starts off with a bit of the citrus and pine notes and goes fairly quickly into the maltiness, which is a bit toasty and moderately sweet with some caramel notes. Floral undertones and moderate bitterness throughout. Finishes mild with light bitterness

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A solid fresh hop brew that uses the freshness to an advantage in the nose. The taste is very balanced and could be amped up a bit in terms of hop flavor as it is a fresh hop brew after all. Still, no huge complaints here. Just make sure to drink this one fresh

Poured into stone barley wine glass.

A- Looks great, dark amber with light copper hues.

S- Kind of complex, but only after the big fruit smell. Sort of faint.

T-Flavorful and complex. You can tell they are defiantly whole wet hops. Pine notes on the side of the tongue kind of little zap or zing you may say. It a pretty strong beer not abv wise. zesty bitter.

M-Closer to the thick side if things as being wet hopped ipa, the resin of the hops are all over. Creamy as well.

A pretty darn good wet hopped ipa, pick it up if you like ipa's. Or spicy food.

Poured out of a bottle into a tasting glass. Served cool.

A-thin off white head, orange gold body

S-citrus, floral with a cereal scent

T-citrus front, orange and an alcohol finish

D-not bad but nothing spectacular. I would drink this again though.

Crystal clear copper colored body with a rich, thick, sticky head; sheets of foam and fingers of lacing cling to the glass. Pine and melon-like aromas with a nice underlying scent of caramel malts. Big hop bitterness riding atop a light grain flavored malt base. Medium bodied, glass smooth mouthfeel; mostly dry finish.

A solid IPA that doesn't set any new standards or feature any truly unique characteristics, but still delivers a solid, bracing, big hop presence.

Warrior IPA pours dark cloudy brown with a lot of heavy, thick head and chunky lacing. It smells like dark fruit; I smell raisins for sure. The taste is heavy and malty. It has a nice body, and it is very drinkable. I prefer a little more hops, but this has a nice bitter bite and smooth taste. The ABV is only detected in the end. This is very drinkable. To be honest, I was hoping for some more fruity hops in the taste, but this is still a great beer.

A - A beautiful darker golden color.

S - The best smelling IPA I have ever smelled, hands down. You can almost taste it just from the smell. Multiple fruits and hops are apparent.

T - Smooth and bitter. I thought it got better with every sip. By the end, I was craving more.

M - Solid. Average carbonation.

D - Good. I would drink it more often if it wasn't so expensive.

A 22oz bottle with no visible date. Acquired from my local beer specialist a while ago, and kept in the fridge for most of the intervening period. The label states that this is brewed once a year using fresh hops, and also features some cool artwork.

Poured into a Duvel chalice. A hazy orange-amber colour with low carbonation and visible sediment (larger yeast particles are visible in the bottle). Produces a large head of creamy off-white foam with good retention - this lasts for a while before reducing to a surface layer. Aroma of rich, sweet malt with hoppy notes; hints of pine, orange, citrus and spice.

Tastes of sweet malt with a good dose of aromatic hops and a powerful bitter finish. Notes of pine, resin and citrus along with hints of candy sugar and dry yeast. Considerable hop bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and astringent, leaving the palate dry. Aftertaste of malt and pine.

A decent American IPA. I felt that the aromatic qualities of this beer were somewhat muted, but perhaps that was due to age. A nice blend of malt and hops. Worth trying when it's available.

22 oz bottle, best by 01/14/2015 so cutting it close on freshness, but very well balanced between malty and hoppy.

A- Pours an amber tinted orange, kind of a stereotypical 'beer' color. A finger of creamy head leaves lacing. It's pocodots on the top, lines underneath, and sheets at the bottom.

S- Some carmely malt stuff, actually more like a sweet bun. Some orange and dark citrus (i'm not really sure what that means but that's what sticks in my head- maybe a combo of blood orange and plum.)

T- Very nice bitterness- a real hop forward beer without being a hop overpowering beer. Flavorwise there's good sweet caramel, a good amount of grapefruit pith.

M- Lingering bitterness, which works out well for this beer.

D- Yeah, I can dig this beer. I'm not sure there's anything particularly special about it but a solid IPA nonetheless.

Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, vibrant copper coloring with a foamy, bubbly, chunky, off-white head. Nose of pepper spice and bitter greens forward, with a solid herbal blend of evergreen, oregano, and basil. Tropical fruit highlights run through the nose, too. Very bitter overall aromas. Flavors are herbal spice forward, heavy on the basil, with pepper notes, subtle tropical fruit sweetness, and a very dry, resinous backbone. Very green and bitter overall, with mossy and cut grass notes at the end. The palate is short lived, with a lingering green bitterness left along the palate. The body is dry and light, leading to a crisp, drying finish. Pretty well put together brew.
