16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/7/2019. Pours moderately hazy deep golden/amber/light orange color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6%, or lingering hop burn after the finish. Overall this is an excellent NEIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish; nicely soft and not overly aggressive. Awesome Mosaic showcase. Super juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great clean wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example. Loved the hop profile as expected. No complaints.

Type: 16-oz. can
Glass: Firestone 14-oz. Teku glass
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $5.99
Purchased: Nov. 3, 2019
Consumed: Nov. 4, 2019
Reviewed as: New England Style
Misc.: Canned on Sept. 26, 2019

Was shocked to see Great Notion in San Diego so I had to pick this up. Realized later that I had it once, giving it a 4.25 on Untappd on June 1, 2018 at the Firestone Invitational bottleshare and writing, “Nice break from the BA stouts.” Can description read, “This sessionable IPA is brewed with an insane amount of Mosaic hops and lots of love. Juice Jr. is the little brother of JD DIPA.”

Poured a golden hazy color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Lots of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Good spotty lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)

Smelled incredible right from the get-go. Got Mosaic, pineapple, mango, stone fruit, peach, papaya, passion fruit, berry, floral, grapefruit, pine and herbal. (Smell - 4.75)

Taste wasn’t quite as good, but still pretty fantastic. In order got Mosaic, pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, passion fruit, stone fruit, citrus pulp, peach, papaya, mango, berry, floral, fresh pine and herbal. So much flavor for 6 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.50)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.00)

Wow. So much better than I thought it could be. So much flavor for such a small ABV beer. World-class. (Overall - 4.50)

Great ripe IPA from a solid brewery. Canned date 11/7/19 so quite fresh. Pours a hazy yellow-orange color with some nice fluffy white head and spotty sheets of lingering lacing. Smells of ripe tangerine, guava, orange, grapefruit and mango. Also some malt, vanilla, floral and herbal hops. Taste follows the nose, great balance and depth and good hoppy bitterness. Smooth, slightly juicy and soft mouthfeel with great carbonation. Very easy to drink.

Pours a hazy golden orange with soft, soapy head.

Smell is terrific, juicy and tropical with the typical Mosaic notes of mango and orange juice, along with some nectarine and pineapple.

Taste is juicy, tropical and perfectly balanced. Notes of mango, pineapple, orange and nectarine with a clean, moderately strong bitterness. A hint of licorice on the long, pretty dry finish.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft and pillowy, well carbonated.

Overall, a terrific NE IPA with plenty of bite.

Pours out a bright orange with complete haziness. Forms two fingers of bone white crown.

The nose brings a punch of dank fruit. Oranges, papaya, melon and a greenness.

The taste brings in somewhat of an earthiness. Green, resin like before turning to the fruit notes. Slight sweetness in back. Very slight berry notes.

Full bodied, especially for only 6%. Creamy and smooth.

Overall, it has some nice complexities with a smoothness throughout.

Poured into a wine glass. A hazy yellow color with a large white head that stayed with me. Damn, this is the dankest Mosaic I've experienced in quite a while, and I like it. Serious cannabis aroma along with faint berries and earth. Taste followed. Dank notes mixed in a fruity blanket. Medium bodied with a soft feel. Huge flavor. Outstanding.

Sweet, tropical-citrus, dank-hoppy nose on this one! Taste follows well with a dank and hoppy bitter bite and subdued sweetness. I had this on tap, but prefer this much more out of the can...the depth and feel is much better and the dank-hoppy notes pop out more. Sessionable and crushable at only 6% ABV, this is a good one to start the night out with if you are getting started early. LOL! Good!

Drank 5/4/19 @ the Beer Temple.

Very mild for the NE IPA style; this wasn't bad but I can't say I'm pumped to have another.

However, in a pinch you could do way worse.

Canned 1/28/19. Stamp says to "Drink Now." I must follow orders.
L: Pours a hazy honey orange in color. The haze is evident, but it isn't a murk bomb. The head amounted to about a fingers width of a loosely packed bubbles that retained nicely, settling to a nice uniform ring around the glass. Supple amounts of lacing spots the glass, but doesn't coat as seen in other GN offerings.
S: Instantly, I know this is a brew featuring Mosaic. Very fruity and herbal. Citrus, melon and berry is abundant with an abundance of grass complexity. Smells awesome.
T: Really started to grow on me. Disclaimer, I am not the biggest fan of Mosaic being the singular hop in NEIPAs, but GN changes that mentality. The mango and citrus flavor is abundant, but there is a piney dankness on the finish that is indicative in Mosaic IPAs. The more I drink it, the more I like it.
F: Light in body and weight. Low to moderate carbonation, meaning it has just enough to facilitate a fizzle on the tongue. Smooth feel and easy to drink at 6% abv.
O: As said before, I am not the biggest fan of Mosaic implemented NEIPAs, but this one changes that. First off, I love beers around the 6 abv mark, so there is a plus. Second, it is both juicy and dank with nice grassy hop profile. Very easy to drink and all-around very enjoyable. I would drink again, and I am super glad to have tried. Cheers!

On tap at the brewery.

A mildly hazy light orange with a white head that falls off rapidly leaving little lacing this looks solid. The nose is super juicy with passionfruit, papaya , mango and peach, in that order. Minimal malt character. The palate opens with gobs of juicy hops, with passionfruit, papaya, mango , a little guava and a back end of peach and orange. Unabashedly juicy with minimal bitterness, there's a mild aspirin like astringency present. Sweet and juicy on the finish with a lingering fruit juice character, this beer is light in body and moderately carbonated. Enjoyable.

16oz can poured in a can shaped pint glass. Brought home from Oregon by my wife. Dated 10/18/18.

Pours a hazy orange-white with a smallish head and a lot of carbonation. Smell is straight up resin, and a little citrus.

Taste is more of the same, super bright. This beer is excellent.

Mouthfeel is light and effervescent.

Juice Jr. pours, as expected, like orange juice. Opaque orange, chicken stock not bacon fat opaque, with a fluffy off white head that settles the same way a fresh squeezed full-pulp juice would. Laces like layers of cumulus clouds.

Serious Mosaic goodness coming off the surface. Blueberry, mango, clementine, and nectarine already sell me before a bready and yeasty sweet malt come up from below. And as if I personally requested it, pine and weed, though subtle, creep up for the finishing touches.

Thank God, not a yeast bomb. Junior puts on his big boy pants and delivers loads of all the aforementioned. A little help with some cactus fruit and gooseberry like flavors. Solid, unique, and delicious elements. A little lacking on my beloved pine, but I'm ok with it.

Despite its appearance, this is surprisingly crisp, spritzy, even a bit tingly and tart. It's close to balanced but lucky for me it favors the bitter side. And I don't know how it's possible, but it's low for the style abv seems to still give off some warmth.

It's not wonder this won Oregon beer of the year last year. It's phenomenal. Elements of new and old (mostly new) blend wonderfully in Juice Jr. Glad this is in 16 oz cans, finally. Cheers.

Generous hints of orange, yellow grapefruit, and sweet candied fruits up front on the nose. Soft, peach-like stone fruit, and hints of fresh herbs and wet cut grass follow. The bitterness comes out in the form of grapefruit rinds, accentuated with a slight peppery bite.

A tropical / exotic fruit medley of guava, passionfruit, and mango dominate the palate at first, but are quickly adjoined by some more eponymous hints of fresh orange pulp and yellow grapefruit. In keeping with its "juice" theme, the fine grass/herb notes are largely absent from the palate, along with the grapefruit rind bitter hints that were more apparent on the nose.

The body is a little lighter than Great Notion's other offerings (hence the Jr. moniker), but it doesn't stray far behind in terms of the depth of flavor and juiciness; medium-light bodied, with a sticky slick-ish consistency. Soft, yet vibrant carbonation accompanies the quintessential Northeast consistency throughout the drinking experience; the brew finishes dry and clean like a pressed shirt.

Not quite Juice Box, but it'll do just fine.

Bright, pungent aroma of zesty citrus and melon that follows nicely onto the taste. It has a nice bread-like malt body to back it up. Better than Juice Box, actually. This definitely feels more like a Sessions IPA than a pale ale, but these guys kill the pale ale/ single IPA game.
