Bright yellow juicy appearance, white head is short lived. Huge citrus juice in the aromas, mango, papaya, and pineapple also large. Taste starts with all of this fruit too, though not as fully as the nose, but the hop finish is a bit green, dragging down the impression on the palate. Feel is lush juice with considerable smoothness before the hop finish, doesn't feel as green as it tastes thankfully. It's no overripe that's for sure. But solid on a warm early summer day

Pale, soft yellow body; cloudy; thick, billowy, white head; sticky rings circle the glass. Huge fresh citrus smell; lemon; floral notes also present. Nuanced flavors; bright citrus; oats and powdered sugar; yeasty; mild hop bitterness. Medium-heavy weight to the mouthfeel; mildly acidic; mild abrasiveness on the palate; semi-dry overall.
All around a great little beer. It exudes a hazy India pale ale attributes but not in a heavy-handed manner. There is a delightful lightness and subtlety to everything. Sometimes, moderation is the key.
Pouring temperature: 47 °F; canning info: nothing noted

This was super well-executed and tasted uber fresh, but the Citra was almost overpowering to me, snappy and zingy and pungent and sharp. Pours out from the can with brightness and a big floral impression of tropical fruit, with some underlying green dankness. Big impressions of mango and papaya, coconut and lemon, grapefruit rind. Dry body with some felt carbonation and hoppy bitterness. Good stuff, its definitely world class, but the hops are almost too much for me (which sounds weird to say).

Pours a pale yellow color. Completely opaque. Sudsy white head forms on the beer and quickly dissipates. No residual head remains. Aroma is lovely - bright notes of orange, papaya, citrus rind, green hops.
Taste follows the nose with fruity notes such as citrus, orange, orange rind, lemon grass, with some green hops notes, a abit of biscuit malt backbone and a light herbal spiciness on the finish. Feel is medium bodied, smooth, moderate carbonation.
Overall a solid, well done NEIPA.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. snifter glass
Price: $7.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: May 12, 2021
Consumed: May 19, 2021
Misc.: Canned on April 19, 2021
Spent way too much on a recent trip to Windmill Farms, including four Great Notion beers. Had tried this once before, giving a taster of it a 4.25 at Modern Times’ 5th Annual Festival of Dankness on Aug. 24, 2019. Untappd description was “Brewed exclusively with Citra hops, Ripe brings a bit of juicy haze to Portland. This award-winning IPA is loaded with tropical notes of mango & papaya.”
Poured a light golden hazy color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect foamy spiderweb lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Citra, tangerine, orange, mango, guava, papaya, pineapple, grapefruit, lemon, melon, Juicy Fruit and notes of Mosaic. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose but still outstanding. Got Citra, tangerine, orange, mango, guava, papaya, citrus pulp, Juicy Fruit, pineapple, grapefruit, melon and lemon. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, citrusy, pulpy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Another solid beer from Great Notion. Glad I picked up a can. (Overall - 4.25)

Pours a pale orange-white with an opaque transparency. Head is a finger of white foam. Aroma is ripe tropical fruits right off the front, with tangerine, papaya, orange zest, and mango forming the front. A touch of resiny hops at the back brings it to a close. It definitely has a 'ripe' citrus smell. Flavor profile follows the same, with tangerine, mango, orange zest, lemongrass, and lemon zest forming the bulk of the notes. There is a squeeze of resiny hop at the back that singes off the tropical fruits from lingering. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a velvety texture that carries just a touch of grit. Overall, lovely tropical fruits in a condensed display.

Pale yellow that is perhaps just short of cloudy (but definitely opaque). Nose has a little citrus funk to it - a mix of Citra cattiness, dry cream of wheat, snd some lighter mango and unsweetened pineapple. Taste brings the non-hops components forward, backed by a more tropical flavor than the nose indicates. There is a fizziness with a little burn before a mix of orange and residual fruit from the opening meets a somewhat herbal bitterness to complete the beer.
A like the balance of malt (and whatever adjunct may be in) with the bitter hop nose that boosts the more balance flavor to a bitter impression. Hoppy fruit expression done well without being too sweet or thick.

On tap at NW Growlers today. Surprised to see it, as I didn't think kegs of this beer saw any distribution.
The beer pours the expected hazy golden amber color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is attractive, showcasing tropical fruit and orange citrus. What you see and smell is what you get with this beer, as the flavor profile replicates the nose pretty much exactly. There's a hint of bitterness on the finish, but this is pretty much a fruit bomb. Mountfeel is medium bodied with a moderately long finish. Alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile, though there's a touch of heat on the finish to remind you its there.
A nice enough hazy IPA, but I wouldn't go out of my way looking for it. Not sure I understand the glowing reviews for this beer on BA, but each to their own. This probably isn't something I need to reorder any time soon.

OK this is the Fresh Hopped version canned 9/11/2020..so 2 days old.
16 oz can from Westside Taphouse in West Salem OR.
Pours a very hazy lemon curd colour with a good sized creamy/thick white head.
Very fresh leafy hop aromas..not as fruity as some NEIPAS maybe because the hops are fresh, but its there..tropicl fruits but this fresh the hops still have some pungency... and it balances very well. Great.
Taste is so good so fruity..so hop leaf..so balanced ..its just a miracle every sip.
Mouth feel is perfection very aggressively carbonated but the thick body can take it. Leading to a very drinkable yet complex ale.
This is a very good Fresh hop and an even better NEIPA

It's INSANE how good this NEIPA is! The smell might fall short of perfection but the look, taste and mouthfeel doesn't. SO DAMN tasty! Smooth...citrusy...syrupy...crushable...delicious...sophisticated...balanced...flavorful...HOP JUICE! I'm not good with words, I can only tell you that this is up there with the very best - this is Tree House quality...and up there with some of their better ones too.

Fully opaque corn milk yellow, becoming a pale glowing orange under sunlight, with a very short, thin white blanket dying off almost instantly.
First impressions are that it's dank, lightly spicy, and also chalky with acidic aspiriny accents, however mild they are.
The medium yet chewy body has a fine carbonation that continues to promote peppery, cannabic and mangoey qualities that come to a delicately dry finish, stirring up hints of pineapple-vanilla on the exhale.
Giving this one second and third chances definitely reaps rewards.

On draft at Great Notion Northwest brewpub, served in a snifter.
Bright yellow-orange, deep hazy (not opaque) appearance with great amount of fine bubble foam. Carbonation is in good abundance. This is citrusy all the way, and a great representation of the hop in a hazy IPA. Some piney notes and dryness come out at the end, on this medium feel IPA.
Liked it a lot, and brought back a 4-pack with me.
