We took our RIPE recipe, and made it bigger and badder! Super Ripe is double dry hopped with massive amounts of Citra hops, and a second addition of Vic Secret hops from Australia.

poured from a 16oz can into a narrow gauge willi becher pint glass. pours like mountain dew but settles in the glass a beautiful hazy orange with three fingers of soapy white foam. the name is appropriate as it’s a bounty of ripe tropical and citrus fruits on the nose. i even get a little white wine grap must. taste is more on the herbal / vegetal side of the flavor spectrum up front with a juicy, citrusy middle and a slightly bitter, grassy finish. full mouthfeel. definitely doesn’t drink like 9%. really good.

Poured from a can dated 1/17/23 “ I guarantee it “

Appearance of grapefruit juice mixed with orange juice, thick appearing thin soapy head, faint lacing and thin cap

Aroma is pungent, overripe pineapple and mango dominate. Wet grassy and a slight sour smell

Taste is overripe tropical fruits, hints of grapefruit and green grapes. Pineapple, Mango and guava dominate

Mouthfeel is a tic heavy and juicy, kind of smooth but a prickly slightly astringent finish. I didn’t notice any alcohol

Overall it’s a complex hazy DIPA, nice aroma and has a WC bite. I liked it but in my opinion the taste didn’t live up to the nose, not to say it didn’t taste good. The nice aroma felt that I should have experienced more sweetness and layers.

Lives up to the name again, like most of the RIPE series I've tried. Fresh 16oz can cracked into a pub nonic; milky pale orange haze with a large cap of bright white bubbles. The nose smacks with vibrant, floral tropical fruitiness and a vine-like herbal quality...these hop variants make the brew pop with notes of guava and pineapple, white wine and green grape juice, lemon and lime...potent smack of bitterness among all the fresh juiciness, this one is fun. Mild booze as well.

Bright yellow hazy pour complete with a full white head and lacing as we go down the glass. Huge tropical juice in the taste with powerful dank and bitter hops, just everything turned to 11, leans toward soapy but stop short in the aftertaste. Smell I can better discern pineapple, mango, guava, melon, lime, grapefruit with the hops, potent yet complex. Feel is bright yet dank, juicy yet bitter, lighter bodied but hoppy carries, and has a soft froth to pair with the hops to finish the smooth body.

Not my favorite but has a great old school vibe and seems well executed. Mostly excited seeing this at a small time liqour store meanwhile the big box one I work for can never get this in or never tries.

Cloudy, fluffy, dirty tan orange colors. Weedy, dank. hoppy nose. Taste is mildly citrusy with plenty of that West Coast bitterness and tang that’s so damn enjoyable. Medium bodied, semi-dry finish, boozy. Pretty good.

On-draught @ Beermongers Portland:

$6/12oz pour.

Minimal bitterness to its detriment. Hop profile is mediocre. A bit warm.

This is my first Great Notion beer...I hope their other work is more on point.

Canned a month ago.

L -- Hazy golden-straw body with two fingers of dense white head produced with moderate pour. Good retention and great lacing
S -- Pineapple, that new sneaker thing I tend to get with citra, dank resins, red grapefruit pith, hint of bubblegum and booze. Quite pungent
T -- Grapefruit pith & flesh, unripe pineapple, yellow peach, wheat tartness, green leafiness
F -- Medium mouthfeel, medium carb. Fluffy and 'full' feeling, with a gently tapering bitterness on the finish and some alcohol heat
O -- Good effort by Great Notion here. Drinking quite nicely even at a month out and a trip across the country
