My favorite Great Notion IPA so far. Look and smell are amazing. The perfect amount of sweet balanced by just a bit of bite. Super soft mouthfeel too. I’ll always look for this one when I can get it.

Pours a turbid bright straw yellow with a thick off white head. Nose is pungent citrus, sweet maltyness and light hints of pineapple. As the name goes this baby is Ripe! Fresh mangos, sweet pineapple, melons, guava and fresh cut citrus all mingle on top of a perfectly balanced earthy And sweet malty base. Very smooth and pleasant to drink. Ever slow slight bitter bit at the end to keep things interesting. Huge creamy body, Milkshake like minus the lacto and vanilla of course. I dig it!

Very cloudy straw appearance with white head that disipat s quickly. Aroma is a mild citrus aroma. Taste is a nice balanced citrus and hops that is slightly sweet.

The double dry hopping really did a number for this beer, as although it seems to retain the same impossible balance of a hop nuclear attack and a squeaky clean fermentation profile that Ripe exhibits, there are, however, some new flavors and aromas that augment the already supersaturated aromatic and palatal receptacle that is Ripe.

In addition to the more citrus and tropical fruit driven flavors inherent in Ripe, there's a cool and robust melon and pineapple presence which now threaten the bright and sunny Citra single-hop dominance that was observed in Ripe. Don't know why this hit me just now, but it would really be awesome if Great Notion did a collaboration with Cellarmaker and combined the different methods and styles of showcasing the range of Citra hops by doing a crossover of (enter multiplier here) Dobis and Ripe. I bet that would bring some interesting results.

Tangents aside, the melon and pineapple addition are also joined by a refreshing white grape must kind of sweetness toward the back on the palate, as well as little hints and indications of dank grass and the pink grapefruit that dominated in the regular Ripe. Whereas the citrus and sweet mango is what ultimately remains on the nose as the brew warms up, the melon remains particularly relevant towards the end, with the grapefruit rinds adding a touch of bitterness so to counteract the momentary sweetness that trespasses upon the palate.

Medium-bodied, crisp and dry, with a hint of stickiness on the lips after each sip. Soft carbonation that is a joy to behold on the tongue. I'm tryna find the words to describe this beer without being disrespectful.

This beer is fucking pure passion and i was caught unprepared. This ale tastes like a monkish IPA but with a softer, more delicate swallow and back end experience. (not saying there isnt a perfect monkish IPA because there certainly is)
This beer is Finesse and easily the best Great Notion ale I have had the fortune of experiencing.
