First time trying Great Notion. Heard great things so I decided to try this Superstar IPA. Appearance is an appealing hazy, golden orange color capped with a medium, well retaining head. The aroma is a delicious blend of bright tropical fruits, citrusy hops and a hint of malts. The nose follows the taste quite a bit with a burst of sweet, juicy tropical fruits along with hops and a bit of malt. Perfect amount of slight bitterness on the finish. Superstar is a medium bodied beer with a deliciously smooth and creamy texture which makes it very drinkable.
Always love a beer that is easily drinkable and at the same time flavorful and full of character which I think describes this beer well. Very impressed with Great Notion, this is a fantastic beer packed full of tropical flavors and hops.

taster at Great Notion Alberta. Hazy yellow pour with a light foamy white head. Aroma and taste are citrusy, juicy, sweet and a nice hit of grapefruit peel. Smooth and approachable.

Look: Murky light orange with a moderate foam head.
Smell: Difficult to detect, watermelon and straw is all I can describe.
Taste: A complex arrangement of hops; citrus peel and melon stand out. Tangerine and marmalade.
Feel: Pretty average for in IPA.
Overall: Pretty good example of an IPA.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of mangos and cantaloupe melon are present in the nose along with notes of orange citrus.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional hints of pineapple and papaya.
M: It feels medium-bodied and juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the juiciness in the mouthfeel of this beer and all of the tropical aromas in its smell.
Serving type: can

Can dated 7/20/2020 into a imperial tulip pint.
A: Orange murk juice with 1+ finger of medium-high density white head with good retention and left mixed lacing.
S: Potent tropical nose Mangos and Melon (cantaloupe).
T: Follows nose but less impressive. Finishes with mild bitterness and moderate acidity, which hangs on the palate.
F: Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation, full on the tongue but lots of tingling from acidity, slick on swallow.
O: Way too much carbonation/acidity really detracts from what I bet is a delicious beer.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a light yellowish color and a very cloudy consistency. There was a 3/4", foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Above average lacing.
S: A very enticing aroma of hops, citrus fruit, malt, and tropical fruit.
T: Tasted of a small amount of malt (mostly in the finish; not a huge factor), a good shot of tropical fruit (pineapple, in particular), a moderate amount of hops (just enough to make it interesting), and a good amount of citrus fruit (orange and lemon). A sweet, fruity, and zesty flavor. It has just the right amount of fruity sweetness and hoppy bitterness.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a sharp, lively finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A thoroughly enjoyable beer. Drinkable.

DRINK FRESH 02/11/20 stamp near rim of can. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint glass.
A: Hazy lemon yellow with some particulate matter that sinks to the bottom. 1-finger foamy white head with average-to-below average retention and sparse lacing.
S: Aroma is ripe with melon, guava, mango, peach and a bit of evergreen.
T: Flavor is more powerful than the aroma with more of a peach-mango-guava punch with some floral qualities and red grapefruit, candied pineapple, and lime in the finish. Bitterness is low. Abundant fruity esters.
M: I could not tell if this beer was 6% or 9% -- very smooth with a touch of chalkiness in the aftertaste but very soft and easy to drink. Carbonation is low and body was medium.
O: I see why GN is hyped for this beer style, and I appreciate the lower ABV with no loss of flavor or feel. Would like to try one fresher - I guess OR will have to be on the list!

16oz can served in a can-shaped pint glass. Dated 02/11/20.
Pours hazy light orange/amber with a smallish to medium head and a lot of carbonation. Smell is filling the room, nice and juicy but not specific.
Taste is nice balance of fruity, dry, and bitter. Leans in the direction of citrus rind to me.
Mouthfeel is dry and resinous. Overall, very nice.
