An interesting hybrid between a Wild and a NEIPA. (I call it the later... although if Wilds' tart were as well-balanced as Luminous, I would not be adverse to the style.

Luminous arrived in my second shipment from Tavour. I held it waiting for summer to arrive. Tired of waiting, I picked a good day to be refreshed.

Luminous 06 Looks like a guava or grapefruit Wild, lacking foam. Smells are a tropical fruit medley with some berries in there. Tastes bring in a balanced sweetness; something restrains what seems to be brewers sugar and it all becomes a nice tart. Offering a pleasantly refreshing sit in my mouth, I wish I had ordered more.

I couldn't get on Great Notion's website, so I give them only a limited brewer's review. They certainly are prodigious ! Almost 300 brews on BA in less than five years! But with many master brewers in the same town, competition clearly made them better. Their specialty in the NEIPA is interesting and indicates that the trend is where there are young breweries. Good luck !

Faded coral slushy body, no head, clearer edges. Could get sherbet in the aromas but mostly getting raspberry, orange, grapefruit, and vanilla. Taste brings the lime and sugar in fully now, some strawberry, cotton candy, and the tiniest hint of pink guava. Feel is cool, slightly acidic, starts wet and sweet yet by end thins and dry. Cool idea, good execution, summer is calling

A: The beer is very hazy yellowish red in color - too hazy to see if there is any visible carbonation. It poured with a short white had that completely faded away very rapidly.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sourness, raspberries and oranges are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but is more complex with additional flavors of vanilla with hints of milk sugar and associated sweetness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be interesting as it was a hybrid between a sour and a milkshake IPA.

Pours a ruby red grapefruit with a finger’s worth of head that dissipated quickly into bigger bubbles, into little islands, with no lacing.

Upfront nose of rainbow sherbet, somewhat of a tin/copper scent lingers

Mostly sweet sherbet flavors with strawberry and pineapple coming through for me.

Slightly tart with a decent bite and a tang left over like that of a grapefruit.

Overall a dessert beer for sure and one that’s enjoyed on certain occasion or in certain moods. Still very nice
