Draft: Poured a black color porter with a medium size off-white foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some black chocolate notes and light vanilla notes. Taste is also a mix of vanilla and roasted malt with some black chocolate notes and vanilla notes. Body is a bit light with good carbonation. Enjoyable porter with good balance overall.

Liked it a lot more than I expected. A beautiful dark golden color out of the 500ml can. Smell is good, but nothing to write home about. A deep, sweet taste that's nowhere near as bitter as I was expecting out of a porter, with a defined vanilla taste. Delivers on all it says on the label.

A- Tallboy pours into a tulip glass with a black body and a light cocoa brown cap. The head ascends to about an inch high with a creamy and frothy texture and good retention. Webs of lace form as the head dissipates and lacing continues after each sip with small sheets.
S- Not getting all that much beyond the roast grains here. Dark chocolate, roast barley, chocolate malts, toasted nuts, charred grain and with time just a some of vanilla bean.
T- The vanilla picks up a lot when compared to the aroma and this is pretty common in vanilla beers in general. The grains are still very formidable and roasty playing along very well with the vanilla bean dessert flavor. Vanilla bean, dark chocolate and roasted barley are joined by toasty, nutty, fudgey, brownie, cocoa powder and charred grain flavors. A medium-low sweetness and some roasty bitterness on the taste buds.
MF- Medium bodied straying a bit towards the lighter side for a rich flavored porter. Silky and smooth with a fluffy and creamy texture. Ends slightly bitter.
The balance of flavor is really well done here as the very dark flavors from the grains are complimented by the classic vanilla bean and some sweetness. Not a decadent dessert but plenty of great flavor. Perhaps just a bit lacking on the body but overall very nice.

12 Oz Can poured into glass
Look - Typical dark brown color that porters have. Medium foam head, that's frothy not smooth. Some good lacing.
Smell - Aroma consists of charred malt. Something else minor like incense or something very strange. I wouldn't have known there was vanilla in blind smell test.
Taste - Very sweet, the bitterness of the roasted malts is overlapped by a heavy syrup. Some vanilla but it's more in the background than anything else. Quite a sticky finish, not sure if that's hops or what. Carbonation is medium-high for a porter. Body medium.
Overall, i think it's good but there's not much vanilla. Which is fine but for a basic porter, there are lots that are better. little too sweet and too carbonated for me. Grade is a B+
