12 oz can

Really dark brown with ruby highlights. Clear when held up to the light. Big dark malt and fruity aroma - molasses, raisin, black cherry. Similar flavors in the aroma, a little sweet. Sticky mouthfeel, medium bodied.

Inside a cool looking can lies a different take on a Belgian quadruple - so different that I wonder if the brewer even likes Belgian quads.

It certainly looks the part, a dark brown mixed with purple and red. It even kind of smells the part, with a very subdued aroma bearing the subtle hints of fruit. But then you take a sip, and all pretences are cast aside.

It tastes like the pull of a rusty saw blade across stone, an unharmonius blend of competing flavors fighting with each other - flavors that are subtle but combine to form a cacophony, flavors that have no business being in a quad. If it didn't say what it was supposed to be on the can, I'd never guess it was trying to be a quad.

This beer tastes like a first attempt at homebrew by someone who wasn't paying close attention to the recipe and couldn't find all the ingredients and decided to substitute and improvise on their own.

The can is pretty cool looking, though. I have to give them props for a good label design - it convinced me to buy it.

Can to chalice.
The appearance was a nice looking dark ruddy brown/purple mix highlighted by some black coloring closer to the center. Ever so slightly small rim of head quickly fell off and didn't leave any lace.
The aroma had some plums, sweet apples, Belgian yeasty breadiness, dark toast, milk chocolate, wafers, subtle pears and an even slighter touch of Belgian spices.
The flavor mixes mostly everything together sweetly but kicking the spices back a bit more than expected. Slight Belgian yeasty aftertaste with chocolate coated plums, apples and pears.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Modest carbonation with a touch of stickiness. Sturdy ABV leading through appropriately and having a fine finish of chocolate coated plums and a touch of spice.
Overall, nicely done Belgian Quadrupel, I'd be willing to come back to. If anything, the name makes me want to have some death metal on in the background.

500 mL bottle, 2017 vintage.

Beautiful ruby-brown color with a light tan head. Deep raisin and caramel aroma with a soft hit of alcohol in the background. The flavor is rich, sweet malt. The caramel really starts to come through and there's plenty of dark fruitiness to it as well. Smooth, warming, and sweet. Medium-full bodied. A really nice, straightforward Quad that I'm glad had no fruit or flavorings added to it.
