S: Jar of peanut butter
T: Reminiscent of a hefeweizen, nutty, light banana, wheat
F: Medium-light body - was looking for something heavier.

Overall: Unique beer, all-around good peanut hefeweizen. Very strong peanut butter smell, and good peanut butter taste. If you like peanut butter banana sandwiches, you'd totally like this.

This was a nitrogen pour version.
Semi-cloudy, light golden orange, with beige highlights. Interesting, moderate peanut butter and semi-sweet, malt aroma. Funny, funky clash of a nearly bitter, off-dry, peanut butter taste, with the wheat malt flavors. No thanks.

Look: It pours hazy pale yellow with a white head. Head retention is very good.

Smell: It has a deep peanut butter aroma that is quite dominant.

Taste: The flavors feature peanut butter, dough, and low banana. There is a bit on an herbal element.

Feel: It has a medium body with a bitter sweet finish.

Overall, the peanut butter is overwhelming in the aroma, but has more elements for the flavor.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Dark brown pour... opaque with 3 fingers of off-white head. Great ring of lacing.

S: This beer reeks of peanut butter. Some roast and cocoa, but mostly PB.

T.F: Sweet peanut butter and chocolate. Kind of Reese's cup-ish... and then after the sweets and some roast comes an odd fruity hefeweizen flavor with grass, yeast, and some citrus. Banana? The flavors don't jive all that well.. but it probably should have tasted a lot worse. Well carbonated and medium bodied. More peanut butter cup to finish.

O: An odd beer with flavors that don't work all that well together. Still... I probably should have disliked it more. Worth trying for a novelty dessert brew I suppose. Not one I'd want to frequent.

I honestly just picked this up as a novelty because I had not previously seen a peanut butter hefe. The look is solid although the color is perhaps a touch darker than typical. The nose is exquisite, with banana bread, yeast, and peanut butter. The flavor translates in a similar manner and this is an interesting specimen. The issue is that it seems more like a hybrid than a straight hefeweizen. Totally interesting and good for a single pick up if you like to experiment.

Pours a hazy straw yellow with a bubbly white head that quickly dissipates.

Peanut butter, banana, yeasty bread,

Yeasty bread malt flavor back by banana, finishing dry and nut with notes of peanut butter.

C: Golden Hazy and Lackluster; almost no Head production and retention at all. But nice clean lacing.

S: Toasty, Yeasty, No hoppy smell, Clean smells of Bread. Almost no Peanut Butter smell.

T: Has a very wheaty/ yeasty flavor to it, and an aftertaste of toasty peanut butter flavor and eventually fades into a bitter piney herbal flavor.

F: Very light and crisp

Overall: I was excited to try a Hefeweizen beer that was flavored with Peanut Butter, sadly I do not get as strong of a Peanut Butter flavor as I was hoping, the yeasty flavor and smell really overcomes the Peanut Buttery flavors and smells. I was surprised for an 8% beer to have almost no spiciness or alcohol flavor which is a plus for me. The beer looks delicious and smells very much like what a "with yeast" beer should, unfortunately, my rating was a bit lower due to the expectation of more Peanut Buttery notes. Had it been just a Hefeweizen and not advertised with the Peanut Butter flavor so strongly my rating would have been higher. In conclusion, this beer is pretty good and I enjoyed drinking it, I would reccomend it as a Hefeweizen but not as a Peanut Butter flavored beer.

Medium body with medium light carbonation. Has a bit of a thick, coat the tongue feel that I often associate with wheat beers
Aroma peanut butter, molasses, malt, mild citrus peel
Taste is peanut butter, molasses, malt, mildly bitter grains
Overall it's a successful blend of peanut butter with this style. Have to be in the mood for this though, not a knock a few down while watching the game type of beer

Roasted peanut butter is the star, as it should be. One-note but it's a pretty good note. The 8% abv is nowhere to be found. I suppose a hefeweizen is hiding in there somewhere but I couldn't find it.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a hazy golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is dominated by peanut butter. Taste is peanut butter, light bananas very easy drinking for an 8% abv beer. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall it's truly one of a kind and worth a try.

Hazy yellow-amber with minimal head and some floating brown material.

Smells like peanuts, sweet banana, and raisin.

Taste is peanut, banana, wheat, vanilla, orange, and spicy clove and noble hop flavors. Really interesting.

Feel: medium/thick-bodied, creamy.

Overall, this is an interesting, tasty beer. Extra points for originality.

I believe my good friend and old neighbor from Oswego gave me a bottle of this beer. It poured a slightly hazy yellow with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had wonderful peanut butter flare. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with peanut butter base and slight hints of clove and banana. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent and interesting beer.

The smell of peanut butter is overwhelming. The taste doesn’t get better. Somethings just don’t belong in beer, but to take a Hefeweizen and add peanut butter and banana is just an insult to the origin of the beer. Now will have to wait 4 weeks for tap to change.

Drinking this on tap.

I'm probably an outlier here, but I taste hops, nutmeg, orange creme, vanilla, clove and one metric ton of bubble gum. With every sip, I struggle in vain to detect either peanut butter or hefeweizen, but am absolutely unable to detect either.

This isn't a bad beer. But while memorable, I can say that this will be my very first and very last.

There are much better offerings by Rusty Rail. This one, however, I just can't get comfortable with. It's just too much of an oddball.

Poured into grip shaped goblet: color is gold, quite murky, definitely a hefe look and even has some good head and retention with brighter white color.

Smell is overpoweringly peanut butter, little else.

Taste allows some of the underlying hefeweizen character to show through with light banana yeast notes, hints of fruitiness, and then peanut butter flavor with a pastey dry finish.

Mouthfeel is a bit sharp on the end, could be the booziness showing through as I don't perceive it in the flavor.

Overall, i had to taste quickly because I couldnt handle drinking a full glass; peanut butter flavor is heavy, banana and yeast byproducts are light, and the flavor/presence transition is odd with paste like finish to the flavor but sweet/dry lingering presence. Saving the rest of the glass for a dessert to balance.
