Taster flight at Rusty Rail. Hazy golden pour, ring of white head. Aroma is peanut butter. Taste delivers banana flavors from the weizen yeast, making it taste like...you guessed it...a peanut butter covered banana! Interesting flavors, but I don't think I could drink too much of it. Dry

12 oz can
Served in a tulip glass

This beer pours golden with a slight haze to it. It is topped with a couple inches of creamy, tan head that leaves decent lacing.

Lots of peanut butter and banana aromas.

Decent peanut butter flavor. The banana is more in the aftertaste.

Thin bodied with a watery mouthfeel

I have to admit that it is better than I thought it would be. I bought a single, but I would have another one.

Personally I actually don't like the idea of this beer, peanut butter pairs well with real ripe banana not the banana clove you should get from a hefeweizen.

So what they did was essentially (to me) remove the banana clove and now you have a very peanut flower dominant beer. It's not undrinkable or anything but nah I'm getting this again.

On tap at the Brickhouse Grill in Orwigsburg pa this afternoon.

Looking very nice. Hazy pale orange/ yellow body with a big creamy white head. Creaminess holds throughout the drink. Peanut Butter element is not overbearing.

S: Jar of peanut butter
T: Reminiscent of a hefeweizen, nutty, light banana, wheat
F: Medium-light body - was looking for something heavier.

Overall: Unique beer, all-around good peanut hefeweizen. Very strong peanut butter smell, and good peanut butter taste. If you like peanut butter banana sandwiches, you'd totally like this.

draught
This was a nitrogen pour version.
Semi-cloudy, light golden orange, with beige highlights. Interesting, moderate peanut butter and semi-sweet, malt aroma. Funny, funky clash of a nearly bitter, off-dry, peanut butter taste, with the wheat malt flavors. No thanks.

Look: It pours hazy pale yellow with a white head. Head retention is very good.

Smell: It has a deep peanut butter aroma that is quite dominant.

Taste: The flavors feature peanut butter, dough, and low banana. There is a bit on an herbal element.

Feel: It has a medium body with a bitter sweet finish.

Overall, the peanut butter is overwhelming in the aroma, but has more elements for the flavor.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Dark brown pour... opaque with 3 fingers of off-white head. Great ring of lacing.

S: This beer reeks of peanut butter. Some roast and cocoa, but mostly PB.

T.F: Sweet peanut butter and chocolate. Kind of Reese's cup-ish... and then after the sweets and some roast comes an odd fruity hefeweizen flavor with grass, yeast, and some citrus. Banana? The flavors don't jive all that well.. but it probably should have tasted a lot worse. Well carbonated and medium bodied. More peanut butter cup to finish.

O: An odd beer with flavors that don't work all that well together. Still... I probably should have disliked it more. Worth trying for a novelty dessert brew I suppose. Not one I'd want to frequent.
