BEER INFO

Brewed by:
Copper Creek Brewing Co.
Georgia, United States | website

Style: German Pilsener

Alcohol by volume (ABV): not listed

Availability: Spring

Notes / Commercial Description:
This German style pilsner is very pale golden in color with an ultra dry body. It is brewed with German pilsner malt, a touch of Munich malt and plenty of Magnum and Hallertau hops. This beer has an extremely clean malt character that finishes with a superbly crisp hoppiness.

On-tap at the brewpub.

Pours a clear golden-straw color with a one-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving solid lacing.

Smells of crisp pilsner malts with unfortunately large amounts of diacetyl. Mild amounts of citrus and grassy hops are also present and intensify as the beer warms.

Tastes similar to how it smells, although the buttery flavors aren't quite as intense. Light pilsner malt flavors kick things off and are tempered by somewhat large amounts of butterscotch flavors. Midway through the sip light citrus - lemon peel - and grassy/earthy flavors kick in, carrying through to a mildly bitter ending.

Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with active carbonation.

Drinkability is OK. I didn't have a problem finishing my glass but unfortunately the diacetyl keeps me from being terribly excited about another.

Overall this is a solid beer that's well-hopped enough to overcome the buttery flavors. Worth a try if you see it on to decide for yourself.
