Canned 12/12. Consumed 1/15.

User rpjterp pretty much summed up today's beer scene in his review when he said, "Even a great pils is still a pils."

Even a great pils is still a pils, bro. And this pils is pretty great.

Pours a nearly translucent straw yellow with a pillowy white head that sticks around a bit throughout.

The nose is just wonderful. Bright lemon. Maybe a touch of gym sock. Some peppercorn cutting through it all.

Taste is much of the same. For as light of a body as it is, it sure does have quite a bit here to chew on. Nice bready characteristic without being overwhelming. Finishes with a really nice subtle sweetness that just drags you back for another sip.

Feels a little on the lighter side, but it's exactly where you want it to be.

Overall, this beer is totally fucking dope. This is pretty much exactly what I want in my fridge at all times. It has enough going on where you can think about it a bit if you want, or you can just drink it.

Cheers to all that new money out there overlooking a quality pils and leaving them for me to drink.

Pours a clear pale yellow with half a finger of head that recedes to a faint collar leaving trace bits of lacing. Crisp light malt aroma. Light bready taste...Very refreshing.

On-tap @ Suarez Family Brewery in Livingston, NY.

Pale gold and clear with a large, fluffy, white head. Bready and cracker-like pils malt aroma that is so fresh it's almost as if the grain was cracked and mashed right in front of you. Sharp, herbal hop bite that is balanced beautifully with the malt. Crisp and beyond drinkable. Medium-light bodied.

Hands down, one of the best pilsners I have ever had. The gentleman who poured this for me told me it was a single malt, single hop beer; proving that sometimes less is more. The attention to detail is impressive. Understated elegance in a glass. Close your eyes and get swept away to a German biergarten... or just sit in Suarez's taproom and gaze out the window at the beautiful rural landscape while enjoying multiple glasses of this.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Duvel tulip and also on-tap at the brewery.

L: Crystal clear light golden pour. 3 fingers of fluffy white head. Great retention and lacing.

S: Light grains... fresh from the field, light citrus hops... lemon and grass.

T/F: Follows the nose. Fresh malts/grains... barley. Crisp hops... citrus, lemongrass, and thyme. Mild spice... subtle hop bitterness. Ridiculously drinkable. Clean, crisp, and delicious.

O: This is what a pilsener should be. Outstanding... crisp, clean, amazing. Changed my understanding of what a pils can be.

Growler filled a few days ago.

Nice creamy rich head hits a finger and fades semi slowly nice lacing, mostly clear slight chill hazed golden pilsner color.

Nose nice toasted pilsner malts, straw, doughy bread, toasty grain, nice grassy floral hops, noble hops, sweet pilsner, little soft lagering aroma too.

Taste brings awesome toasted grainy straw pilsner malt, juicy sweet pilsner, with nice soft lagering, slight layered effect but doubt it was decoction, little bitterness then nice grassy floral hop finish, long lingering grassy floral hop finish, some decent bitterness ramping on the dry crisp finish.

Mouth is med to slightly lighter bod, decent carb, a little crisp.

Overall awesome, maybe the best American made pilsner I've ever had, very well executed, great ingredients, nice levels of everything, well lagered, etc.

Big thanks to JLindros for sharing this. Per the growler tag this beer is spelled "Palatine Pils".

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice crystal clear golden hue with a nice one finger white head that fades to leave thin lacing and a nice blanket.

S - Aromas of nice grassy hops, very floral. Excellent sweet pilsner yeast, little doughy.

T - Taste is similar to the nose very nice straw and cracker malts, great pilsner yeast. The grassy hop notes are very pleasant, lightly sweet, the finish is nicely bitter.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, crisp, light bodied.

O - Overall this was a very good pilsner. In fact, this may be the best "made in America" pilsner I've ever had. Just really, really well done and right out of the gate too! I could drink this all day long.

people are really freaking for the suarez stuff, and with their pedigree i totally get it, but this is just another pils, and yeah, its really good, well made, drinkable, checks all the boxes, but its nothing to drive a distance and line up for, however it gives me confidence that others of theirs probably are. its clear and golden and in the german style more or less, some decent hops to it though, mostly noble from what i can tell, restrained in the right ways, super clean in the fermentation, not much lager yeast flavor in here, really mellow there, but its dry and crisp and bubbly, and flavorful overall, a nice american made version of a classic style, better than most but not striking enough to blow my mind. i didnt think it warmed up great, but most pils types dont, these are drink fast and cold and order another one kind of beers. hoppier than many, fresh though, and really balanced still. more than anything, this beer just illustrates to me how much bad beer is out there, like, this is what pilsener is supposed to taste like, not that this is epic or anything, but by comparison to a lot of them it is, which makes me wonder. here we are exalting this one as world class, its just really good, i think it stands out more because there are so many bad ones. sad but true. id crush a bunch of these though!
