16 oz can.
Pours a cloudy straw color with 2 fingers of fluffy white head. Great head retention. Leaves some splotchy lacing.
Very herbal aroma. Notes of earl grey tea, melon, lemon, and dank, grassy hops. Quite grainy. Like the smell when you walk into a large brewery.
The flavor has notes of lemon and melon, cracked peppercorns, earl grey tea, and fresh mixed berries. Herbal, grassy and dank on the finish. Lots of grainy malts on the back.
The feel is typical Suarez: Medium-light, fluffy and creamy with a nice crisp bite.
Overall, this is a great pale ale. I couldn't tell this was a nelson hopped beer until after a few sips. Suarez is so great at bringing out the best in the hops they use while still being extremely subtle. Unfortunately this can is pushing 2 months old. By no means is this "old", but considering the brewery has the "Drink by" date fewer than 3 weeks from now, it's definitely pushing it. Would love to try this one fresh. Still, a damn good beer.

Sampled at the source.
A- Cloudy yellow pour from the draft to a becher. A head forms with creamy consistency to an inch high with good retention. Big rings of lace form after taking each sip.
S- Medium punch of Nelson. Sticky dank, herbal, tropical and citrus hop aromas with some berry. Decent pale grain backbone for a fuller more rounded out smell.
T- Nelson really smooth and bright here at medium strength. Dank, mango, apricot, peach, weed, pineapple, tangerine, floral and berry hops. A backing of clean and pale crackery grains.
MF- Fluffy and creamy light body. High level of bubbles. Ends with just a hint of bitterness.
So far this brewery really impresses me and I would love to get back there some time. Fresh and clean Nelson hops with a solid and clean backing of pale grains. Wonderful balance.
