Picked this up at the brewery yesterday. Served in a barVolo 2014 Zwanze glass.
A - Voluminous white foam settles to a thick cap, slowly receding to glass-coating lace. Pale transparent golden body with visible carbonation.
S - The Simcoe part of the hop profile dominates here, with a spicy, grassy, cat pee, dankness. There are some lemony undertones and a fairly neutral, bready malt backdrop.
T - The taste reveals a bit more Citra and malt character, with grapefruit and a bit more sweetness than the aroma suggests. Still, a lot of lemon and herbal bitterness from the Simcoe hops, and a fairly neutral malt backbone. This is definitely more reminiscent of good American Pale Ales than most of the other Toronto offerings I've tried.
M - Medium body, a tad grainy. Pleasant medium carbonation, slightly juicy. No alcohol, dry finish.
D - This is a really nice pale ale, and more of what I've come to expect from the style. No problem killing a .5L bottle while watching Game 3 of the World Series. Looking forward to trying more brews from Burdock, as the two I've had so far have been quite nice.

A mismash of various ideas. The flaws exceed the slight hoppy flavour and aroma: dominant yeast flavour is not what I want from a hoppy beer, too carbonated, harsh finish. Light yellow body is what I expect from a Gordon Biersch not a serious crafter.

A solid pale ale and the best of the beers I had on my first trip to Burdock. A nice citrus and slightly tropical presence with a sharp bitterness. A nice resinous mouth feel.

In a move sure to cause chaos on rating sites, it appears that the hops used in this beer vary, as this one uses Mosaic and Galaxy. Nose is Mosaic heavy, dank with tropical scents. Flavour is similar, though the fruit comes through more than the dank. Very tropical, with some grassy flavours. Moderately bitter. Nice body, active but not irritating. Good.

500ml bottle from brewery.
Bright clear gold. Minimal head. Mild citrus and pine aromas. Slight dankness. Crisp. Pine and and tangerine. A pleasant APA that I prefer over the similarly hopped IPA.
