Very Good
Notes: Author James Fenimore Cooper gave the name 'Glimmerglass' to the beautiful body of water that graces Cooperstown. Nestled between gentle mountains, it reflects any object held up to it, just as it reflects our joy at the arrival of each spring.

Deep straw to light amber in color with a thick, pure white head. The saison yeast strain gives off fruity aromas of pear, apple and slight citrus balanced with a delicate floral hop character and a touch of spiciness. Taste is very clean, with pronounced fruit flavors, delicate bready malt followed by welcomed spicing. Crisp finish with lingering yet subtle notes of yeast and touches of fruity pepper.

Big foam here, and it doesn't seem to dissipate. Whipped cream in the New Belgium snifter. Pale shade of amber. Light and spritzy with a big coarse carbonation in the mouth, but quite a mouthful.

Rather acidic and light bodied. Some interesting aromatics. A long biscuity taste with serious perfume. Violets and straw. Just the trace of yeasty bitterness. More dry and less fruity. Just a hint of pear and apple skins. A touch of the barnyard. Subtle flavors. A pleasant quaff if you don't mind getting foam all over your face.

Quite drinkable and seems to skip the usual Ommegang overly-yeasty taste. A light and tangy Saison. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Mayfair Liquors in Denver.

Was able to snag this new release for just 2 bucks! Into a pub glass.

A - Wow uber carbonated! I got 2+ inches of head from a light pour! Beer itself looks rather hazy bright shade of yellow. Very tiny sediment flakes in the glass means this is unfiltered.
S - Actually quite timid the yeasts don't smell very strong which is nice and it has an almost apple cider like sourness to it. Very little spice it sort of smells like a Hefe.
T - Well I wasn't blow away but it was a very nice session Saison crisp yeast meets apple cider like sourness with a fruity bubble gum sweet finish. Much easier to drink than say Hennepin.
M - Far from champagne like it was uber carbonated but had the consistency of a light beer. Very sessionable.

Overall I do not prefer Saison's since they are usually very yeasty or you can taste the alcohol but this is a very well done session Saison. Simple yet effective I could see getting this again.

edit: I had to look at the label I never had "pink peppercorns" but they are mild, fruity, and blend well with beer. Please incorporate them in more saisons.

12 oz bottle poured into an Ommegang tulip.

Yellow straw with 4 fingers of dense, creamy, white head that dissipates slowly. Lively carbonation and slightly cloudy.

Lemon, potpourri, pear, golden apple, hay, and clove.

Golden apple, pear, and lemon pith. Potpourri, coriander, clove, and white pepper. Hay, lemongrass, and a touch of honeysuckle.

Light bodied, crisp, clean, semi-dry, and heavily carbonated.

A refreshing spring offering and decent enough Saison.

12 oz bottle, poured into a goblet

Appearance: Pours a very pretty, opaque, golden color, speckled with orange highlights and four fingers of white head that slowly dissolved into a lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Strong, pleasant aromas of toasted malt, freshly cut grass, hay, orange zest, pepper and coriander.

Taste: Delicious! Toasted malt up front, imparting notes of freshly baked French baguettes, followed by some honey-like sweetness, orange-like citrus flavors, finished with some spice notes of pepper and coriander.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, with some good carbonation to tickle the taste buds. With an ABV of 5.4%, there is no presence of alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is a great saison, and another great beer from Ommegang! I’ll certainly get it again!

Bottled on 1/8/14. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy light golden with a fluffy eggshell white head that sticks around and leaves awesome lacing and retention. The aromas are very clean and pleasant. Lots of fresh pear. Some hints of green apple in the mix as well. Very fruity. Yeast and malts are there. Some banana and clove. The flavors are clean and refreshing. More fruit, especially pear. Maybe some hints of white grape? There's a nice earthiness going on. Some spices, but they truly are subtle, in my opnion. Some black pepper, but far from spicy. Lots of malts. Mouthfeel is awesome. It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied with very active carbonation. The carbonation is very creamy and fluffy. Extremely smooth. Alcohol obviously goes unnoticed. Great for spring/summer.

This is another really nice beer from Ommegang. Very crisp and refreshing with a fun creaminess to it. Enjoyable stuff!
