Ommegang and HBO® announce the newest beer in the Game of Thrones® collaboration series. Through its first four seasons, the critically acclaimed drama has become the biggest show on HBO.
In the world of Westeros, Valar Morghulis means “all men must die.” Fans of the hit HBO show chose the foreboding phrase as the name of the newest beer in the Game of Thrones® collaboration between HBO and Brewery Ommegang. As part of a Facebook poll, fan voting determined the style and name of the next beer. An Abbey Dubbel was selected and it is perfectly represented by the “two- headed” coin given to Arya Stark by Jaqen H’ghar, one of the “Faceless Men of Braavos” – legendary assassins with the ability to change their appearances at will.
On sale October 1st, available in 750ml bottles and 1/6 barrel kegs.

Bottled 6/17, enjoyed a year later alongside GoT.
This pours a ruddy brown with thin foam. I get a raisiny stone fruit aroma. Thin bodied. Malty but not overly. Not bad with some age.

I've had this in storage for several years and finally decided to pop it open for a special occasion. I may have let it sit too long as it was filled with the particulates after opening and airing out. It was a little too sweet for my liking, but it's retired now anyway.

750ml bottle. No dating information found.
Murky, amber brown colored body. One finger of khaki colored head; this settles back to a partial cap and ring. Just a couple of spots of lacing left behind.
Aroma of caramel, malt, and fruit, with yeast.
Taste of yeast, caramel, fruit, and malt.
Medium mouth feel, with dry feel from the yeast. Very good (frothy) carbonation.
Expresses the tenets of a Dubbel. Crafted for balance and component expression.

A very typical Dubbel from Belgium but made here in the good Ol’ US. As is typical with this style of beer there is an alcohol taste and smell.

I drank this beer because I saw it on the table.
Look: Lots of foam
Smell: Aroma of molasses
Taste: Game Of Thrones: Valar Morghulis has a flavour of Dr. Pepper blended with an IPA.
Feel: Average amount of carbonation.
Overall: People who enjoy drinking soda mixed with beer may enjoy drinking Game Of Thrones: Valar Morghulis!
