Reddish brown color. An aroma that's full of so many different things. Raisins, dried fruit, spice and a little bit of yeast and even more but hard to determine. A lot of carbonation and felt heavy and effervescent. A really intense beer that I would definitely have again .

12oz bottle into Libbey Tulip
BB 4/2017, been sitting on it for about 3 months
L- pours a seemingly clear auburn with a huge fluffy brownish head, that eventually turns rocky while it dissipates
S- toffee, caramel, brown sugar, herbal yeasty notes as well, something really enticing about the aroma
T- I am getting some real delicious fruit pudding with notes of some dark fruit and rhubarb, slight brown sugar as well, with a medicinal finish
F- medium-bodied, highly carbonated, slight syruppy feel
Overall this is a super solid beer, and while being my first Dubbel, it totally meets expectations and then some

Wow- this one is great !

Look- Very dark honey color on the body. Thick, creamy, light-tan head. Crazy lacing that was still on the glass 10 minutes after I had emptied it.

Smell- Bread, floral, fruit, spice, ( most notably clove).

Taste- Very complex. Spice, bourbon barrel, malt, a little touch of lavender, alcohol.

Mouthfeel- Creamy, medium body and carbonation. Slight hoppy burn combined with the foam leaves you with a lot going on on the tongue.

Overall- This is my first Dubbel, and I was impressed. I would definitely buy it again. It is extremely drinkable.

Pours a dull mahogany into a fifteen ounce mug the same temperature as the beer. Three fingers of creamy caramel head that lasts halfway.

Smells of dark brown sugar, caramel and cherries. Dark fruit. Old world. Smells like Christmas should.

Rich malts up front followed by darkest brown sugar. Molasses. Raisins. Dark ripe fruit. Black walnuts. Not exactly sweet but leans in that direction. No hops but spicy. Huge malts. Full bodied. Smooth and creamy. Bone dry finish

Quite unique. Flavors not normally found in the "new beer" world. Definitely well rounded. Definitely delicious. Cheers!!

Pours brown. Thick, medium, tan head that lasts a long time with light lacing.

Smells bready and Caramel malt, dark fruit, yeast spice and fruit. Faint alcohol.

Tastes Caramel malt, clove spice, banana and dark fruit. Finish is semi dry with a light bitterness and yeast linger. Full body and lightly fizzy, creamy medium carbonation.

The appearance had a dark brown body yielding a one finger white foamy head that slowly died over a period of five minutes into a film that slowly dissipated into small islands over top the body, really nice to watch. The smell had lots of fruit up front such as plum, pear and apple. Some light malts enter in along with some super light Belgian yeast. The taste was really sweet between the previously mentioned flavors adding in a bit of caramel and raisin. The palate was about a medium to heavy and really sharp on the tongue, not exactly sessionable. Overall, I’d say this is a decent dubbel for its style.

Beautiful murky amber with a tan full head. Belgian yeasts, dark fruits and alcohol are in the scent profile. Caramel malt flavored with some dark fruits on the edge with some alcohol in there too. Not my favorite flavor profile but quite complex none the less. Quite carbonated and medium thick in mouthfeel.

L: Hazy dark amber, almost brown, with a big creamy beige head, good retention, and lots of lacing.

S: Overripe banana, banana bread with walnuts, toast, caramel, ripe, pear, apple pie, 0cinnamon, lemon peel, and clove.

T: Toasted banana bread, apple, pear, lemon, cherry, dates, fig. Caramel malt backbone, with a dry finish of clove.

F: Medium-full, quite carbonated.

O: A great American dubbel. Super enjoyable.

This is a straight up fantastic beer.

Rather heavy body with a resilient, viscous head that clings to the walls of your glass meshed with a sweet subtle flavor that recedes to a pronounced dryness at the finish. You can really savor this one with slow sips and enjoy the totality of the nuanced notes - just a beautiful tasting beer.

Very impressive and I'll have to try more Ommegang in the future. At $9.99 for a four pack it's also quite a bargain given the quality.

Pours dark copper with large murky head that dissipates within a few minutes.
The aroma is dominated by a slices Belgian yeast character with toffee, dark fruit and sweet candy sugars
It's pretty sweet up front with tons of brown surfer, dark fruits, and caramel with lots of clovey Belgian yeast spiciness on the finish.
The mouthfeel is a little thin, but it's carbonation is light and pleasant.
Overall, this is an outstanding Belgian dubbel and is affordable. I would definitely recommend it.
