I am giving this baby all the chops. Poured this wonderful mother into a Belgian style chalice. What I saw made me fall in love. This looked just like one of those cloudy beautiful Belgian brews with a creamy head.

What I tasted was very complex beer. A beautiful beer aroma and a beautiful full bodied curvy women of a beer with a raging sexual appetite. This is not a skinny white virgin, but a luscious dark skinned fully sexually empowered dark skinned woman. Go talk to her boys and suck her down like the man you are. Raw oak woody earthy dark Belgian brew balanced with mild fruit and spice.

Head to head comparison with St. Bernardus 12. Very similar. I would say Abbey is higher carbonation and a wee bit lighter in color and thinner in taste. It's more of an English style ale. That's expected with a dubbel v quad. Abbey lacks that caramel malty flavor 12 delivers. Instead you get a little more citrus and spice setting lightly in the background balanced nicely. Similar result when I tried it head to head against Rochefort 10. The amount of flavor and complexities fall wildly and unexpectedly to the Abbey.

What complements this beer? Why Santana's Abraxas! Just look at the album art that's enough. This is not just beer, but a dark beautiful sexual experience.
