Got this on tap at the City Tap in Boston and so glad I did. I was really impressed with its sweetly fruity malt character and yeasty spiciness. What a combination!

Rare Vos = Sly Fox in Flemish. Love this brewer.
a) Pours a cloudy dark amber body supporting a creamy, sturdy lasting head that amply laces. Starts as a tan lumpy cap.
s) I find aroma starts with fruit, spice, orchard, yeast, fall fallen fruit, cellar stairs, up which waft crusty fresh baked bread.
t) Taste follows smell and adds: apples, dates, figs, and dried fruit spiced with coriander and white pepper on a yeasty bake shop backdrop.
f) Creamy see saw from sweet, ripened fruit to a nice drying finish.
o) Great Belgian craft at reasonable price. Drink at cask temperature.

Hazy orange-amber with an off-white head that dissipates into a nice crown. Sweet aroma of cherry and raisin and earthy, tea-like character. This continues to the taste with strong cloves that give a definite Belgian impression. Medium bodied with relatively strong carbonation that contributes to a semi-dry finish. Not bad.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a conical pint glass; no production information.
A: Pours a hazy, orange-amber color with at least a 2 inch head initially, clearing to about one inch with good retention, but only soapy lacing.
S: Aromas of cloves, caramel, and toast predominate. Maybe a little fig or raisin.
T: Taste follows the nose with a large spicy presence. Bitterness evident late and in nice balance overall.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Little aftertaste.
O: A very drinkable Belgian influenced Pale Ale. I would certain drink again or serve to friends.

A: Pours an amber color with 2 fingers of head that slowly fades down to a thin cap that leaves very spotty lacing

S: Belgian yeast gives off some fruity and spicy notes. Caramel maltiness provides some sweetness against dark fruit

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the Belgian yeast and dark fruit notes. Gets deeper into the fruity and spicy yeast notes as the caramel comes through. Dark fruit, particularly raisin and fig, lingers into the finish

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. On the lighter side for being 6.5%

O: A nice Belgian pale/amber ale with plenty of Belgian and American influences. Very easy to drink. Worth checking out

Also got this one on tap at The Supply House in NYC. Nice bronze glow with a modest head...ranks with the better Belgians I have had...will get this one again.

A sort of copper orange color.aroma had everything that a Belgian ale would have, yeast, spice, floral. Taste was similar but with a bit of a bite from perhaps a bit more hops than usual. Still very full, flavorful, yet somehow not too heavy at the same time. I would definitely have this again

Ok not bad at all! Very similar to allagash Belgian pale! I wish it had a little more Complexness to it but still a solid beer to match with a burger and enjoy! Cheers.

I just got a six pack of this (yes, six pack). They must have reformulated and took more alcohol out. Not the same as I remember when it was in 4's. Great beer though. A lot less head on this six pack, the first time I poured this beer it was an insane amount of head and carbonation. I loved it. This batch was almost like pouring a bud light. Just some head on the sides of the glass like a donut. Not sure what they've changed or if they changed at all. Anyways, if you've like coriander, spices and that classic Belgian flavor, this is your go to daily driver.
