12oz : tulip

Pours a hazy, burnt orange with a thick, foamy white head.

Spicy, peppery, coriander, light orange peel fruitiness, bready malts.

Foamy, slightly creamy medium+ body.

A very well done Belgian pale ale. Prominent coriander and spices, but without being overwhelming thanks to a solid base beer.

Ommegang Rare Vos Amber Ale has a thin, cream-colored head (not unlike root beer), and brilliant, glowing orange appearance, with very tight bubble streams and some slight lacing left behind. The aroma is rather faint, but with deep inhalations, one can pick up the sweetness, orange peel, and subtle spices, along with bread. Taste is of spiced bread, orange, coriander, and pepper. Mouthfeel is rather lager like and watery, and Ommegang Rare Vos finishes crisp, refreshing, zingy, and enjoyable. One does wonder how it would hold up without all of the added enhancements, though. Overall, I score it excellent.
