The first several times I had this beer I didn't like, it took me at least 10 bottles before I finally warmed up to it.
It poured a red/brown and leaves a cloudy red body with a one finger white foamy head, slight carbonation is seen rising. The aroma has the Belgian yeast up front, baked apples in the background only after a bit of warming. Some sweet cracker, a touch of floral and a little bit of honey at the back end.
The taste is sharp slightly sweet through Belgian yeast and the apples combine with some bubblegum sort of flavor.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt a touch lower, and the ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, yes, I like this one nowadays.

L: Hazy amber with some little floaties, and a huge off white head with excellent retention, dying to sizable foam that leaves rings of lacing.

S: Overripe banana, toasted brown bread, clove, pear, and apple.

T: Banana bread, big bready malt backbone, hints of coriander, red apple skin and ripe pear, and a dry finish of clove.

F: Medium, quite smooth and creamy, with lots of sparkly carbonation. With the ample carbonation and dry finish, it drinks so easily.

O: An excellent American-Belgian ale. Very tasty and satisfying!

Look - Enjoyed on draft, beautiful copper color, two fingers of rocky white head, a few spots of lacing.
Aroma - Pear, floral, musty, faint hint of clove.
Taste - Spice up front, dry bitterness, light coriander, malt is biscuity and not very sweet, hint of toast, finish brings a bit of orange zest with floral hops. Aftertaste is quite clean with just a small lingering spice note.
Feel - Light body, effervescent, dry, crisp.

Overall - Another world class beer from Ommegang, terrific balance and complexity.

First off, this score might be a little lower than the beer deserves based on the fact that I'm not a fan of Belgian beer. Putting that aside, here are my thoughts on this one. I don't like the mouthfeel. It's too carbonated; despite a hard pour & letting the carbonation die down some, each sip seemed to explode into frothiness not allowing the liquid to flow across my tongue. I fixed that by roughly swirling the remaining 2/3rds up a bit so that I could sense the tastes better. It did the trick. This is where the rest of the problems with the beer are likely just my style preference. There are no bad tastes, no funk, no sign of adjunct. There is a complex mix of floral, spice, fruit (orange and ... banana?), sugary caramel, but it's that classic Belgian yeast flavour which just doesn't agree with me. One of the better Belgian's I've had, but again, it's just not my type.

Clear amber color with off-white head. Aroma is mostly yeast forward with some brown sugar and earthy hops. Taste follows. Yeasty and sugary, not sweet though, a bit of earthy hop bitterness on the finish. Light body, dry and well carbonated. Overall it's a good belgian ale but it doesn't stand out with anything.
