Another home run for Ommegang. The look is a slightly hazy gold with a nice foamy one-inch head that quickly dissipates leaving strong lacing. The nose is full of herbs, fruit, clove, and cardamom. The taste is wonderful. Fruit dominates the front with pepper and herbs followed by at the end. The mouthfeel is strong carbonation and bubbles that remind me of Brooklyn's Sorachi Ale. You do get a champagne dryness on the finish yet there is a crisp quality as well. Overall, this is a great interpretation of the Belgian style. Now, go get a Tulip, a bottle or two, and enjoy.

One of my favorites from Ommegang, with an impressive amount of clove, orange, and cardamom on the palate for not having any spices in the ingredients listing. Easy drinking for 9.5%, with a nice floral character complementing the spices.

Poured into a pint glass.

L- Dark yellow and cloudy with 1 finger of head.
S- Strong fruit flavors up front, lots of citrus and lemon.
T- Nice malt flavors with fruity undertones.
F- Carbonated upfront, with slighty dryness.
O- One of my favorites from Ommegang. Great Belgian Blonde Ale.

Poured from a single-serve into a tulip

Pours a spectacular hazy apricot-gold with a nice foamy head that quickly subsides in favor of pretty nice lacing all of the way down the glass.

Tropical fruit is an immediate presence on the nose, along with yeast, white pepper, herbs, and booze.

The flavor is fruity at the front, with white peppery notes and a bit of medicinal quality in midstream, with orange and lemon peel, herb, and a rather boozy finish. The yeast is there but maybe a bit subdued. I can't decide whether this skews sweet or bitter/medicinal, which means it is probably pretty darn balanced.

The mouthfeel could hardly be better. The carbonation is strong, with fine bubbles that impart a champagne lightness and dryness. There is plenty of malt and fruit in this brew but it finishes fairly crisp.

Overall, Ommegang has another pretty solid take on a Belgian style on its hands. This isn't a Duvel but it's pretty darn good. Would recommend and have again.

Look- Cloudy pale orange, very lively carbonation, foam-like white 1 finger head that sticks around. Minimal lacing.

Aroma- sweet bubblegum is the predominant smell with a little bit of herbal hops at the end

Taste- light bubblegum, green apple and herbal hops with a subtle breadiness underlying it all.

Feel- very soft and light-bodied, super refreshing

Overall- Very enjoyable and easy drinking. The flavors all go together very nicely with none overpowering the others.

I had a suspicion I'd love this one. Golden color and produces a huge head when poured. It is a bit sweet at first with yeasty notes. In the after taste you get a bit more of the hops. Nice mouth feel, medium bodied. And of course the Alcohol is hidden well and hits you a bit unexpectantly :)

Golden color with a bit of haze and white head. Aroma has a nice, floral yeast profile with some candi sugar in the background. Taste starts on the sweet side, slightly sugary, yeasty with earthy farmhouse notes, some dusty hops with medium bitterness on the finish and lingers on the aftertaste. Medium body, soft carbonation, quite atypical for the style. ABV is hidden really well and it has a nice mouthfeel, makes the beer easy drinking.

Now. We. Are. Talking...

Picked up at my "back yard" brewery...

Poured into an Ommegang Tulip resulting in a nice billowing white tightly bound head which lasts and lasts.

On the eyes, before the sediment, a clear and bright pale amber with a subtle rich hue, after the sediment added a fuzzy murky ever-so-wonderful deep yellow-amber...

On the nose, definite Chouffe yeast and a subtle hint of sugars and hops - alcohol (9.5%) is hidden...

Up front, middle and back takes me back to my days in Belgium at Taverne Manneken Pis, where I would belly-up to the bar and have a La Chouffe waiting for me...

This is like La Chouffe with a kick - blond, effervescent with a nice cleansing (not cloying) mouthfeel...

Unfortunately it is extremely drinkable - it is amazing how quickly the four-pack disappears!

Prost!
