Bright golden blonde, clear, with a medium level of head.
Aromas of lemon peel, orange zest, hay, fall leaves, fennel, wet walnuts and unsweetened caramel.
Flavors of lemon curd, citrus candy, apple liqueur, canned peaches, fried dough and a toasted coconut/salted caramel tone on the end.
The finish is not overly long, but crisp and refreshing, exactly what I wanted from this offering. Lemon pepper chicken, pan seared halibut, traditional dover sole or soy glazed sea bass would be awesome with this.
There is probably better Ommegang beers, but I like this one as the hot weather approaches!
Great quality and very good flavor... a typical Ommegang product.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Duvel tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours a bright and very hazy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Big three finger white head that slowly recedes into a thin creamy layer. Leaves a good amount of lacing.

Smell: A yeasty, spicy, and fruity Belgian style aroma with hints of peppers and citrus fruit. Belgian yeast with some upfront hints of pepper, clove, and slight funk. Big mix of fruit esters with hints of banana, orange, lemon, mango, apple, and pear. Also some hints of bubblegum and candied sugar. Wheat and pale malt with hints of straw, grains, oats, cracker, and biscuit. Subtle hints of earthy hops in the background. A very solid Belgian style aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a yeasty, fruity, and spicy Belgian style taste with good notes of pepper and fruits. Upfront Belgian yeast along with notes of peppers, clove, and a little funk. Lots of fruit flavors with some notes of banana, orange, mango, lemon, apple, and pear. Some bubblegum flavor as well. Sweet notes of candied sugar. Pale malt along with notes of wheat, grains, straw, oats, biscuit, and cracker. Subtle background notes of earthy hops with some grass. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Crisp, juicy, spicy, and pretty drying and smooth. Alcohol is masked pretty well.

Overall: A very solid take on a Belgian Pale Ale. Good mix of fruit and spice esters with a smooth body.

Starts out with a big head that lasts and sticks to the glass. Cloudy bright yellow.

Nose is kind of like wheat ale. Banana and spicy.

Taste is strong Belgian hops and malt. Spice, banana and orange peel.

Mouthfeel is pretty carbonated but smooth on the tongue. Plenty of alcohol in this one too.

Poured into a balloon glass.

Look: Murky sunburnt lemondrop yellow, a foamy white head slowly calms to a frothy film. Random foamy lacing.

Aroma: Lots of bubblegum sweetness and yeast. Some banana and fruit sweetness.

Taste: Very much like the aroma, a banana and bubblegum backbone hold up most of the ale. A dry finish that has a bit of an alcoholic edge.

Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy, dry.

Overall: A bit too heavy for my liking but certainly flavorful in the true Belgian way.
