Beautiful building and location (it even feels like Belgium). The retail Store and Cafe is in a separate building, but tours are available every hour. They have a good selection of bottles and glassware, but only one cashier for the 25 patrons. The Cafe was filled to the brim and while there appeared to be a tasting area, it was not accessible at the time. The Cafe lunch menu looked excellent but with a 1.5 hour wait we weren't able to taste anything. If this is what it is like on a weekday in December, I can't imagine what it is like in the height of the summer. We managed to obtain a few bottles of their beer for carry out and left without tasting anything. Too bad because it has so much potential to be a fun place. They need to think about crowd control, perhaps provide access to tasting separately from the Cafe.

Incredible back yard vibe. At least 3 acres. Our baseball team crashed at a last minute decision. We played wiffle ball, football, and corn hole. Lots of bats, don’t have to wait in line. Great souvenir shop. Lots of good beers.

This place is amazing from top to bottom, no questions asked.

We popped in here when heading up to the Baseball Hall of Fame with the family. Vibe was chill - great whether you were by your self, with some friends, or with the family like we were. The grounds were amazing and HUGE. We initially sat down and ate indoors, but were able to close out and move to the outside patio area so our kids could run around in the giant field behind the brewery. Had some puppy pals back there, as well. Cornhole and other lawn games were available upon request. They are in the middle of building a disc golf course, so I can't wait to go back to try that out!

Quality of the beer and the food was great. Had your flagships as well as a few select one-offs as well. beer tasted great and was very fresh.

Service was exceptional. It was pretty busy when we went, but we had no problem getting food and drink timely. The wait staff was also very accommodating to the two kids under seven we were dining with. Great family experience.

Beer selection was pretty good. They had their flagships and a decent amount of other options, as well. They had some cocktails available if you were attending with someone who's not really a beer drinker. they had some additional options to go, as well.

Food was great! They had some fancy tweaks on traditional pub fair. I had the pork belly sandwich which tasted amazing. My kids had some chicken tenders and fries, but those moist and crispy, as well. Great food.

Whether passing through or need a nice place for lunch from the museums, great place. I can't wait to go back!

I used to live near Cooperstown, and this is a really great place to visit and an important part of the community. Of course the beers are excellent. Awesome American made Belgian styles on tap and actual high quality Belgian beers in bottles during select fun events. The restaurant is high quality and the inside space is nice. The outside space is also great in warm weather. They have events for all ages during the summer, with petting zoos and Belgian waffles and kids story time and Alpacas and puppet shows. Awesome hops in the area. The tour is really fun and informative. I miss Ommegang, and I am happy for the National recognition. This is a world-class and among my all-time personal favorite places to visit.

Looking over the empty fields of play a day before Thanksgiving and thinking about procuring some (I’ll never actually set up the) tent space for the BCTC that won’t be, at least anytime soon again. 13 years I’d done the beer festival turned lost weekend here, and every year for the last 7 of ‘em I’ve said, “I’m too old for this shit, I’m done”, but then it’s 2AM, and I’m standing around a bonfire with a hundred of my closest strangers. I’ve got a growler in one hand and a full snifter in the other, and I think, “Maybe I’ve got another one in me”. Down in the wee hours and sunrise awoken brings an early run to the Stagecoach for a double espresso, a quick pretend guest swim in the pool at the Otesaga, and then this iceman cometh with bags of the kind cubes for those in need. Amazing what a very little sleep weekend does for one’s disposition. So, late November nostalgia Ommegang proper. Through the arch and to the newish tap room in the middle of the parking lot…

Straight dark wood plank bar, panel base, & foot bar to the rear. Seating for nearly a dozen and a half on cushiony stools. Large barback unit with a squared center mirror and rounded narrower ones to each side. 4 tap towers with 5 non-descript handles each on the counter fronting, with 3L bottles displayed in both corners. A long horizontal wood piece sits above listing draft selections in 5 rows of 4 slats each (Beer, ABV, IBU, & cost for full & shorty pours). Glass front cupboard space to both sides with alt cider cans displayed. Glassware shelved below the bar with sampler paddles hooked, and coolers on the ends with canned & bottled beer, wine, & cider.

Large square block flooring, black ceiling with a white inlay, and white walls with brown trim. Drop spinny top lamps tracing the bar, dodecahedrons over the floor, and cone horns on the barback. 9 tables mix & match; shared hightops off the bar to raised roundies to low squares.

Loooong side room along the exterior holds a dozen and a half tables, mostly on shared benchings that run a good length of the room. Drop single bulb lighting all the way down to both sides of center pan lamps. Window views here of the pavilion where I’ve VIP’d the fire pit I knew so well and the fields of stage, stagger, & slumber. And through to a little rear room with a shorty table shuffle board, great early 1900’s hop harvest pics & farm tools, Displays of Ommegangeria (yes, that's a word now), labels, & mirrors. A single spinny overhead. Cushy chair set with a table and sleepy inviting leather couch. Crashing on that couch at a BCTC would be the WIN of all WINS. It’s a comfortable room, too good for the likes of you.

20 taps; 18 beers (Witte, Witbier, 5.2%; Hennepin, Saison, 7.7%; Rare Vos, Amber Ale, 6.5%; Abbey Ale, Dubbel. 8.2%; Nirvana, IPA, 6.5%; Farmhouse Pilsner, 5%; 3 Philosophers, Quadrupel w/Kriek, 9.7%; BBA 3 Philosophers, Quadrupel w/Kriek, 12.3%; Wine Barrel 3 Philosophers, Quadrupel w/Kriek, 9.9%; Blueberry Coffee 3 Philosophers, Quadrupel w/Kriek, 9.7%; BBA Adoration, Belgian Dark Winter Ale, 10.5%; Pale Sour, Wild Ale, 6.9%; Rosetta, Oud Bruin w/Kriek, 5.6%; Neon Rainbows, NEIPA, 6.7%; Fresh Hopped Hopstate Pale Ale, 5%; Saisonztraminer, Farmhouse Ale w/Gewurztraminer Grapes, 6.5%; GoT: My Watch Has Ended, Imperial Brown Ale, 8%; Double Barrel Dubbel, 9.9%) and 2 house ciders (Rose & Dry).

I sampled and shortied as I am prone to do (Abbey Ale, did you know the Omme Abbey was (like) my first Belgian love all those years ago? It’s true, my buddy Mike the Fool was all about the strong Belgian ales ‘cause they got you messed up, but I was always lovin’ on the Dubbel, and this one in particular. Nice to drink it at the source; Rosetta, how have I never had this beer? Oud Bruin & Kriek blend, Goudenbandesque but cherried up some, sweet & sour, me likey; Neon Rainbows NEIPA, was not hazy, and is a solid IPA, I’m actually surprised; Blueberry Coffee 3 Philosophers, got the coffee, but not so much the boo, I would have preferred it the other way around; Fresh Hopped Hopstate Pale Ale, piney, citrus, pleasant; Saisonztraminer, Farmhouse Ale w/Gewurztraminer Grapes, subtle funkiness, Belgian yeast, yep, vinous & dry, yes, please, and thank you). Really no clunkers to be had, but that’s the Ommegang I’ve come to know these past (good grief), 2 dozenish years.

Food will happen. The soup was chicken vegetable (these are a few of my fav-or-ite things). There was serious chunky carrot & celery action, and came with me bread & buttah! Obvi Witz was all about the Poutine. Dantender dealt us out, and there were helpful Ommegang people otherwise, as we hit the store over there (me, pointing) for bottles to a go-go. And sadness kicks in as I spy the hop trellis lining the hill. They’ll be no walkabout this day (sigh). Chill house, excellent tunes, the perfect snack, and the beers were all very good. Am so very glad we dropped through.

I have visited a handful of times over last 20 years. They continue to grow and improve the facility while still making high quality beer staying true to its Belgium roots. This is a must visit brewery.

Writing this review retroactively - I visited in Winter 2017-2018 with my then girlfriend, now fiancé, and had an amazing time. The grounds are absolutely beautiful - it felt like we were transported to medieval times. Everyone is super nice and the unlimited tasting was very cheap (maybe $30 for tasting and tour). It was quite packed so at times the bartenders were overwhelmed but generally it was a really good time and everyone got their fill. They have you taste in increasing ABV for the best experience, and then you can return to your favorites. Overall awesome experience.

Had a blast driving on Rt28 from Utica to Cooperstown after the Friday night Aqueous>Moe. Concert at Saranac Brewery on 9/7 & 9/8/18. We were thirsty!!
Beautiful "Abbey" style brewery building, gorgeous land. A fat Red Tailed Hawk sat on the fence looking at us as we drove in!
Im very familiar with what Ommegang offers for brews and quality. I decided my flight should include: Nirvana ipa, Saison Rose, Hop State ipa and pale sour. My only big pour was of the Hop State ipa. Which was seriously tasty. 100% all NY state grown ingredients I believe.
The Carrot Ginger Curry soup was a life saver!
Fun place.

True Belgian farmhouse brewery feel with a NY flare, Superb Belgian style ales that rival some of the greatest Belgian beers. Food is delicious from the Belgian style foods to the more average pub fare. Friendly faces all around and beer tastings and tours at 5$ you can't beat it! All nestled into the beautiful landscape and hills of Cooperstown. Truely magical place. Also to be noted, there always is a limited time beer in the merchandising room which I as a avid beer drinker really appreciate. GO TO BREWERY OMMEGANG!

Finally got up to Ommegang after saying I wanted to check it out for a long time. The place is pretty large, there is a taproom, a gift shop, and a pub area where you can get food. That doesn't even include the brewing space which I'm sure is huge. The service and the beers were good. The selection was nice too because they had some specialty beers they released in bottles. I wouldn't mind visiting again sometime.
