Country Fresh is no different than any random corner store in Chicago. For that reason, it doesn't really belong on beerfly, but there are existing reviews already. Sterile, small grocery aisles under florescent light, beer is in the back coolers.

Maybe 50 brands are offered here, including the macros. Specific highlights were Hennepin, a couple Bells, SNPA, and Anchor. The selection was likely chosen by a distributor, since the imports were all macro too, the only Belgian was Leffe and maybe Stella. There was also New Belgium, Goose, & Sam Adams, just the basics, no specialty beers. No Three Floyds. Less than you average grocery store selection. If you are going to a BYOB on this block, only then would it be feasible to stop here for an emergency 6 pack.

Service was limited to the cashier, who wasn't versed in any basic beer knowledge. With the LP supermarket down the street, and Binnys at Wellington, there are far better options nearby. Skip it...

this small grocery store on Clark is easily passed over, both before and after visiting it. beer is not a focus here, nor is a good selection. it is at the back of the place in some coolers, with a single shelf of belgians off to the side. there is nothing here that one could not find at a normal sized grocery store, with exception of a couple bottles. much like Miska's down the street, the beer section just seems to be an afterthought, and the stock does not turn over quickly due to the dust level on some bottles.

a neighborhood establishment, of course, this place might work for a last minute purchase, but otherwise there are much better stops within a few blocks.

This has been a staple in my beer runs for some time now. There are places with better selections in the area, but I just like this "ma and pa" type place with very friendly(in a good way) staff. I frequently purchase Sierra Nevada products there, some Three Floyds, Anchor, Sam Smith's. They have a decent selection of imports and micros. It's not hugely expansive, but it's worth it to go there if you're closeby. There's the Lincoln Park Supermarket two blocks south, and Miska's 3 blocks south of this place. They both have better selections, but don't move as much product it seems. This place always seems busy.
