Poured from a can into a chalice
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a fantastic level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving tons of streaky and foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a biscuit and doughy aroma mixed with some smells of coriander and clove. Along with these smells comes some aromas of bubblegum and bananas as well as a bit of allspice and wheat. There is also a touch of herbal hop and a little bit of yeastcake rounding out the aroma.
Taste – The taste starts out with a nice crisp cracker and biscuit malt flavor that is mixed with a rather sizable spice profile of clove, cardamon, and coriander. While the spice is rather strong upfront, it gets even stronger as the taste advances forward, becoming a bit over powering. The flavors remain rather dry throughout with just a little bit of grape and citrus sweetness paired with a touch of bubblegum. Toward the end a little bit of grass, hay and herb come to the tongue, and with the increase in the spice, one is left with a rather heavily spiced and crisp taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. For the style and the dry nature of the brew the feel is good and makes for a rather easy sipper.
Overall – An alright brew overall, but nothing that I would search out. A bit to spice heavy in light of its nice dryness.

Great Sweet taste with a light alcohol finish. You can really key in on the flavor of the honeysuckle notes and the bold robust finish that you usually find in darker stouts.

I believe this is the first triple that I’ve ever had. Yes, I’m a novice. Ordered a Freaky Deaky on draft at the Alamo Drafthouse in Dallas last week and loved it. Picked some cans up tonight and poured into a mug. Not as good as the draft but still extremely good. Very fruity with a kind of firm feel in the mouth. Golden color with a little bit of a head. Not really very much in the smell department but overall a very good beer and a good way to end the night.

I had this on draught at a pizza restaurant here in Dallas and I thought it was pretty good but it is far from my favorite Tripel.

Look: golden clear with a thin white head

Aroma: bread, wheat, yeast, banana

Taste: The flavor is wheat, yeast, coriander and banana, a bitter grapefruit rind like hop bite at the end, a bit boozy, but overall pretty good.

Body/Overall: medium body, silky

Clear golden ale with a medium sized white colored head.

Smells strongly spicy both from coriander and hops. Some honeysuckle malt scent. scents of cardamom and black pepper.

Starts out sweet and woody with a sharp hop bite in the after taste. Strong coriander bite. Distinctly one of the heaviest hopped beers of its style. Defiantly getting near Belgian IPA hop levels.

Mouthfeel is OK.

Overall an OK Tripel but there are better,

Poured from the can into a tulip glass.

Golden light brass body with very nice clarity. White head, basic, about two fingers, with a fine soapy ring of lace and a fairly good sized puck.

Very fruity nose, almost comes off as raspberry strangely, with touches of mild sucrose, and a bit of tropical notes possibly. A bit odd but kind of neat.

Interesting palate. Chewy body, with a bit of an alcohol kick. Controlled but boozy fruit like qualities and a little fussel like flavor. Slight touch of hoppy character, and lighter body, less malt presence than anticipated.

An interesting flavor for a tripel but the alcohol is a little to present and even a bit burning for the brew.

There must be some inconsistency in the product. Got a 4 pack out of a can from Central Market. Smells of stale Natural Ice. Tastes just like it sounds - the bitterness of a double IPA (with too little of the bright citrus to make it good) mixed with the yeast of a Belgian (with too little of the banana and coriander you'd expect). It seems like the worst of both worlds. I've had better Belgian / IPA fusions from basically every national megabrewer that has made one. I'll revise the review after trying another tomorrow. My first inclination was to trash the other 3 cans. But I'll give it a second chance.
