I had this on draught at a pizza restaurant here in Dallas and I thought it was pretty good.

Look: golden semi-clear with a thin white head

Aroma: bread, grains

Taste: The flavor is sweet barley and bread with a pilsner like hop bite at the end. It is perfect easy drinking with pizza.

Body/Overall: light body, pilsner like

Pours a clear yellow golden color with white head. Cereal grains mostly on the nose, not much else; same for the palate. Light bodied. Finishes with a sweetness from the grains. One dimensional.

this is a fantastic Dortmunder style German beer. I like many styles but I love drinking a nice session German style lager and this one is great. It's my new favorite among all the local Dallas lager/pils beers.

Oak Highlands Brewery "Golden Mustache Dortmunder Style Lager"
12 oz. can, no freshness dating

Golden Mustache pours a clear deep gold body beneath a short head of bright white foam. Both the head retention and lacing are decent. Grainy malt dominates the aroma, backed by mild floral and grassy hops. The flavor is fuller, adding a bit of spiciness to the hop character, and an almost cereal-like and subtly toasty note to the malt. In the mouth it's decidedly medium bodied, and livened through its crisp carbonation. A very firm bitterness balances the malt, an it finishes dry and lingering with some grain and floral & grassy hop notes. Overall it's pretty much right on track for the Dortmunder export style, although a more straightforward Pilsner maltiness would have been the more common and expected way to go. Worth trying.
