An Imperial Black Saison. Brewed with highly kilned and roasted malts, this beer is black in color. The moderate roast flavor and slight to non-existent hop presence accent the beer’s fruity and spicy characteristics, akin to those of a traditional saison.

On tap. Pours a black color with a small head that lingers. Nose of roasted malt and slightly funked yeast. Taste is malt, dark chocolate, funky yeast, and a dark fruit finish. Medium body and medium carbonation.
The yeast and fruit ended up overpowering the beer and got stronger as it warmed. The Belgian part is definitely something to pay attention to.

L: dark black with a nice off white head. The head lasted for a short time and left a nice lace as I drank.

S: roasted bread smell with a slight earthy smell.

T: spicy almost coffee like. Has a nice tart finish that I have started to associate with a saison.

F: light carbonation so no bight but the hidden ABV does lead to a dryness that has a slight dryness

O: truly enjoyed this and am glad I went out to taste it.

Really looking forward to the BA version coming out in s few weeks.
