A pale, crisp, hoppy ale with moderate haze, excellent mouthfeel, and a strong citrus aroma. The flavor has a hint of tangerine and grapefruit. I assume the bittering hops are Citra and the aroma hops are Centennial. Tools of the Trade is unique among APA's for sure. With an ABV below 5, this is definitely one ale you can stick with all day.

Light, crisp, citrus. Great beer that's lends itself to multiple cans over multiple hours...the definition of a "session" beer, if you ask me. Yellow gold pour with good clarity. One finger-notch head of white foam. Aroma is grapefruit, orange peel and crackery malt. Taste is right there will a light acidic and spicy bite from the new hops. Crisp throughout and perfectly carbonated. Excellent drinker.

Tall can...w/o any dating information to be had.

Pours lighter amber, light haze, delicate and tiny bubble eggshell head, leaves coating low sheeting and plenty of fine lacing all up and down the glass

Fruity and resiny hop nose

Easy drinking sessioner, with light resin, some citrus....tasty ale in a can...gotta love it

a good hop aroma. rather basic hop taste. a tad watery.fresh can from premier. its just ok. Criticism is to pick up the hopping rate? look into the mouthfeel.

16oz. can into Night Shift stemware.

A real nice looking beer. Nose is citrus, pineapple, pine and grass. Crisp, fresh and clean. Beer opens lightly spritzy. Hints of lemon zest, grass and bark. A biting hop bitterness towards the end gives this one a memorable finish. Body is light with moderate to low carbonation. Very drinkable and soft on the palate.

Solid. Could use a bit more flavor but definitely crushable.

It comes in a clear golden color with soapy white head. The retention is long; it eventually dies down in foamy cap that leaves streaky lacing.

The aroma offers powdered lemonade, yellow grapefruit peel, that minty catnip thing, crisp crackery malt, perhaps a touch of pineapple and earthy dankness.

The taste follows the nose impeccably hit. Instant lemonade powder and half-and-half iced tea upfront, followed by yellow grapefruit and a touch of pineapple. Crisp, clean, pilsner-like malt body takes over in the middle, intensified with mint, leading to a slightly earthy finish. Almost no bitterness, but it's crisp, clean, and lightly dry with no sweetness, either.

The feel is fairly light but not watery, well-carbonated; crisp, clean, and lightly dry.

Overall, a really refreshing pale ale. Good as far as session IPAs/PAs go.

Poured from updated 16 oz can.

A: Straw yellow with 2 finger white head. Decent retention and moderate lacing.

S: Light citrus with grapefruit and lemon combined with cracker malts. A touch of floral hops hanging around in the back.

T: Grapefruit, lemon, and melon. Light cracker malts.

M: Light body with a clean crisp finish. Crushable and would be welcome on a hot summer day.

O: Excellent pale ale. Easy drinking and refreshing.

Pale gold, good lacing. A bit lighter in the palate than I prefer, but it's delicious and since the alcohol content is relatively low, this problem solves itself. Very floral. I don't taste the bubble gum the reviewer below did, but I agree on all other points. It's 90 degrees and humid in New York City today and I couldn't have chosen better. The right mix of hops and fruit, and being a little light on the palate makes it a little more refreshing on a day like this.

Pours a fairly clear yellow, with fine, thick foam.

Smell is pretty juicy and crisp with some earthy tones and some citrus.

Taste is also crisp and floral with some citrus and a nicely integrated bitterness.

Mouthfeel is thin to medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a refreshing and drinkable pale ale, well balanced.

Slightly hazy, pretty light and citrusy. Nothing outstanding, but solid session ipa.

On tap at the Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a light amber color, completely clear, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

Not sure what this is hopped with- it's reminiscent of maybe Amarillo, some Simcoe and Cascade? There's lots of slightly fruity grassiness, orange peel, clean crackery malt, and some grapefruit.

This tastes so fresh and so clean. It's got such a clean and friendly bitterness, grassy and floral, with some pine, and a bit of grapefruit and peach. Everything is in appropriate amounts, and not too domineering. This is great.

This is light bodied, super crisp and clean in the mouthfeel, with a good level of carbonation.

First beer from Chief's new outfit here- this is great.

A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that quickly died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of lemons, oranges, and grapefruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has a mélange of citrusy flavors along with some additional hints of grassy hops towards the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is rather "juicy" and tastes like a New England-style Pale Ale if there was such a style given its lighter body. The beer is quite easy to drink.
