On tap at the brewery. Pours a nice ruby color with an off-white head and bits of lacing. Aroma of malt sweetness, grass and hint of spice. taste of malt sweetness with trace of honey. Mild bitterness and a fairly dry finish. Fairly light body, smooth with the honey giving it a nice touch. Easy drinker.

Amber hued with a fingernail of brown around the rim and covering most of the top. I smell amber malt and honey. I’m tasting amber malt, caramel, and a kiss of honey. The mouth is dry and yet a bit sticky and thick.

really a pretty lackluster example of the style here, i wanted this to be better than it is. its oddly sharp, and that seems really out of place in a style i usually associate with being earthy and round and grounded. it looks nice, deep brick red with some off white foam on it and a little haze. i believe its brewed with honey, but aside with some sweetness that could easily be confused with grain sugar, i dont get a ton of character from that, its not floral in that way, maybe slightly if i really look for it, but its more toffee and caramel notes that run with the residual sugar here. i dont get the astringency, and it breaks down what otherwise is a promising beer if you dont mind your irish red being sweet rather than dry. i also wish for more irish ale yeast flavor, which is distinctive in the best examples of the style, but seems minimal and generic here. this was a little off putting, but so were the other beers i had at this bar, and suspect some quality issues from the venue side not necessarily the beer, so i wont write this off yet. it was not what i was looking for in the style, filling and sugary and weird on the ferment in my experience. i did not want a whole one. will revisit next time in the area...

Poured from a 64 ounce growler purchased at the brewery 6 days ago. The beer is 5.5% ABV and 20 IBU according to the website. The beer pours bright red tinted amber with abundant light tan head. The head recedes to a cap and leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is faint with yeast being at the forefront and maybe a hint of chocolate malt. The taste leans more towards toasty malt with a hint of the honey added. Mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied, perhaps a bit over carbonated (very prickly feel & a non-hoppy bitterness that sometimes comes from aggressive forced carbonation) and somewhat dry in the finish. Overall, average. Tastes ok, but the funky nose and feel really make it feel like amateur homebrew.

Hazy, brownish red in color with a cream colored head....malty aroma, toasted, caramel, and gristy. The taste is balanced, with plenty of malty, but it dries out in the finish. A little smoke and roast notes in the taste. Full in body and drinkable. Not a bad amber.

Edit - I had to reduce the taste from 4.25 to 4 and mouthfeel from 4 to 3.75 after having a second pour. This is a really good beer, and I'm sure I could drink a few of these and appreciate it more if I had some smokey food to contrast the sweetness of this beer. It is well balanced and has a decent bitterness, but still on the sweet side and as it warms the mouthfeel becomes a little thin. I'd buy it again, especially to pair with good smokey and spicy BBQ.
L - Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass. No date code on the bottle but I live about 3 miles from the brewery so I'm pretty sure it's fresh. Pours an opaque honey brown with a one finger head.
A - I could smell this all day long. I can't place the sweet smell I pick up but it is very familiar; like a desert or some kind of confection. I also smell sweet malt, slight chocolate malt and a little bit of dark fruit and spicy hops.
T - At the start it is extremely sweet but the hops really balance it well mid palate. I taste that same familiar sweet confectionary taste/smell, some dark crystal malt, chocolate malt, some fruitiness that I'm uncertain is from the hops or the yeast, or both. The finish is a nice bitterness that lingers for a moment. It is very well balanced and enjoyable.
F - medium body and moderate carbonation. I would say both are appropriate for this style. For my pallet I tend to prefer a slightly bigger mouthfeel for malty brown/red ales. But that said, this would be very thirst quenching on a hot day, and super easy to drink.
O - This is a good beer. I had tried it some time ago and liked it but it had been a while. I think I'll go get a growler of this for memorial day weekend. I bet it would go great with some pulled pork and brisket.

Pours a clear, mahogany. 1/3 inch head of an off-tan color. Good retention and decent lacing. Smells of hops, sweet malt, and strong caramel malt. Fits the style of an Irish Red Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of hops, sweet malt, strong caramel malt, hint of cream, slight earthiness, and a hint of pine. Overall, decent appearance, aroma, and feel, but good body, and blend.

Poured out a dark red color with a small thin head of foam. It smelled malty and slightly grassy. It was sweet with a mild hop bite. Light caramel notes.

Malty, toffee, slight earthy bitterness. Not bad, but not the best I have had of the style either. There was not enough complexity to this one and I would have preferred just a little more of a bite to it.
