Draft
L-clear translucent yellow with thin essentially white head
S-complex with hints of cocoa and vanilla
T-starts out strong with a spice driven cocoa flavor that transitions to a more complicated finish that is, unfortunately, somewhat medicinal in its taste
F-crisp and refreshing. Medium bodied.
O-not familiar with the brewery, but they set themselves a high target. The appearance and aroma are cool. Ultimately the flavor doesn’t finish well for me which limits it. I enjoyed the ambition but not totally sure I enjoyed the result quite as much.

World Court Mocha Blonde Stout was my beer of choice. Here in Charleston, SC, it was difficult to find. Eventually Lowes Grocery started carrying this beer and I couldn't get enough. Unfortunately the last two six packs I purchased tasted different. I reached out to Legal Remedy and they informed me that they had changed the coffee bean used. Essentially, any Mocha Blonde Stout brewed from December 2020 on will be brewed with this new bean.
The beer, when poured has more head and the taste is nothing like the original. Honestly, I don't know how to describe the taste. Needless to say I am in the market for a new beer.
Just when you thought 2020 was over, another victim has been claimed.
Legal Remedy, thanks for the fond memories!

Like drinking a coffee-spiked cream soda, awesome one-off on the style. Wish there were more blonde stouts available. Not for everybody, but I think it’s delicious

It is entirely possible this is the most entertaining ale I have ever drunk. (That accolade shows up in my Overall rating in which a 4.75 is what I reserve for only the best Trappists.)
So let me do a quick beer review and then get to the fun part, the brewer review.
Since this is a cleverly made-up style and this is the first blonde stout I want to remember having, Looks get lots of points for original dress. Unfortunately, Smells smack me as artificial. Maybe it's the vanilla in the white chocolate, maybe it's too much sugar in the coffee. But, it is there and it only modifies itself modestly as it warms. I can take it, but I can't enjoy it. In the mouth, it is not so coating and this blonde gets some redemption among the herd of black sheep.
As for Legal Remedy having too much fun... It's not just the name of the beers; but that's a start if you read through them. Clearly they use their BA archive as a place to test names for how funny/clever they are... all legal inferences. And very persistent in that line of joking. As for World Court, that is the highest level and this is their money-maker... and that is what keeps the laughs coming. Lots of character !

Excellent stout. Not too hoppy. Mocha flavor is not overpowering. A pleasant beer to transition the seasons from winter to summer.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a one inch white head that dissipated slowly and left a lot of lacing. Smells of chocolate, mocha and malts. Tastes of white chocolate, mocha, coffee, lactose sweetness and sweet malts. Light bodied for a stout, medium carbonation, smooth mouth feel.
