A collaboration between Göteborgs Nya Brewery and Kouvolan Lakritsi, the most traditional liquorice manufacturer in Finland. A treat for the real liquorice aficionados.

The colour is dark brown, almost black. The liquid is clear. The two fingers head is beige and compact, it sinks slowly leaving no lacing on the glass.
The smell is dry and roasted/burned with Chinese soy sauce, liquorice root and anise. Hints of chloride in the background.
The taste is dry with distinct burned charcoal flavours. Growing notes of sweet liquorice candy and liquorice root. Medium body. The aftertaste got less liquorice and more black malts with a sharp yet low sweetness ad passing clean bitterness. The finish is short with some sweet liquorice.
The carbonation is medium strong, the few mid-sized bubbles are fresh and long-lived. The liquid is semi-smooth.
Blending a dark lager with liquorice was not expected, at least not by me. It is balanced, but at the same time a bit one-dimensional.
