Received a 16 0z can as a holiday gift, poured into a pint glass. Very dark brown with just the slightest tan head. Tastes of chocolate & bourbon, with some slight caramel, char, and vanilla notes. The bourbon & chocolate dominate. The feel is rich & oily, a bit light on the carbonation, but smooth. Never had this one before, but am a big fan of this style. Though this was a bit sweeter than I think a stout should be, it was delicious and I would happily drink it again.

The beer pours a nice brown head that dissipates fairly quickly but leaves a nice looking and vigorous ring around the inside of the glass. The beer itself is a nice dark chocolate black with an oily texture to it that sometimes resembles coffee. It's a pretty good look for the beer and style.

The smell is pretty good. It has a nice moderate bourbon note that comes with a little bit of booze as well. The sweet milk chocolate is there as well but it gets masked by the bourbon notes. The smell has some decent amount of oak mixed into that bourbon.

The taste is very good. It has a nice, moderate bourbon note that mixes well with the sweet milk chocolate and vanilla from the barrel notes. It's a pretty good flavor even if it is a bit simple. Light oak charred oak notes accentuate the beer and fairly strong in the finish.

The feel is pretty good. It's a heavy bodied beer but if feels a bit thin. The carbonation is a little bit on the lighter side and it feels very creamy but is still pretty good.

Overall, this is a pretty solid bourbon barrel aged beer worth getting. The taste is rich and deep as is the smell. It's definitely a really good dessert beer.

A: Dark black and velvet as it pours. No head at all.

S: Huge vanilla, bourbon, caramel, and brown sugar notes, finish is molasses and oak.

T: Big brown sugar notes with loads of oak, and vanilla. Finish is booze, caramel, bourbon, and a touch of a charred sugar note.

M: Here is the big let down for me. Creamy thick body, but almost zero carbonation. I can deal with a creamy brew, even a flat one, but in this case I think it really flattens the entire experience. Even a low amount of carbonation could elevate the aroma and flavor into the next level.

O: Overall I can really see where this is going, and think this beer COULD be fantastic if tweaked. Put some bubbles in it.

Doesn't really hold much of a head, but the flavors are great. Maybe a tad sweet, but that's to be expected. Overall, this is a great beer.

Biggest issue is that the nitrogen can't sustain the weight of this beer. Pours with minimal lacing and the mouthfeel continues to drink flat. Flavor is decent, but overbally presentation is disappointing

Poured a black body with minimal tan head. The aroma has hints of wood and roasted malts but it almost comes across as a chocolate bar - the chocolate is strong in this beer. Some heat from the booze comes into the beer and finish, as does some woodiness and stickiness, but basically this beer is a roasted/dry chocolate bomb that is suited for your sweet beer drinkers more than regular stout drinkers.
