Not a fan of this beer. Not sure if it's true to the style but just not what I expected.Someone that doesn't like the taste of beer might like this one but I'll pass on this one.

A nice summer Radler. Not the best I've had but very nice. I drank 5 or six out of my growler while working around the house and never got buzzed. So a nice refreshing beer with out a high alcohol content.

I picked up a can of Boulevard's Ginger-Lemon Radler for $1.69 at The Lager Mill. It's pretty hot today and I thought it would be a good time to try a new Radler, so let's see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a 12oz can into imperial pint glass.

A- The can looks good, it's got a nice design and it's eye catching. It poured a hazy pale yellow color that took on more of a brighter yellow color similar to lemonade when held to the light with under a half a fingers worth of off white bubbly head that faded to nothing and it didn't really leave and lacing behind. This is an ok looking beer, it seems to be pretty standard looking for the style.

S- The aroma starts off with a lower amount of high sweetness with a sweet candied lemon aroma being the first to show up and it goes into more of a lemonade like aroma with the ginger being noticeable in the background and it had a little bit of ginger ale like aspect to it. Towards the end there's some more sweet malt like aromas with no other malty aroma showing up and it had a typical alcopop aroma. The aroma is ok, it's pretty standard for the style, but it's not very beer like.

T- The taste seems to be fairly similar to the aroma and it starts off with that same higher amount of sweetness with the lemonade flavors being the first to show up and it's just a little lighter than it was in the aroma and it's followed by the ginger which imparts that same ginger ale aspect that I got in the aroma and it's also a little lighter this time. Up next comes a slightly higher amount of medium tartness followed by some malt flavors with some grainy, pale malt and doughy malt flavors with some lingering tartness on the finish with a citrus and lemon like alcopop aftertaste. This is an ok tasting Radler, but to me that flavors to blend that well together.

M- Fairly smooth, a little refreshing, pretty crisp, not too acidic, on the thicker side of being light bodied with a lower amount of high carbonation. This beer has a pretty nice mouthfeel, it;s what I would expect from the style.

Overall I thought this was an ok beer and I thought it was pretty average for the style, nothing really stood out about it except for the things I didn't like and it felt like it was just a little bit of beer mixed with half lemonade and half ginger ale. This beer didn't have the best drinkability, one is more than enough for me. What I like the most about this beer is the mouthfeel, it's pretty nice and it works well with this beer. What I like the least about this beer is the way the flavors blend together, they just clash a little and it isn't a flavor that makes me want to come back for more. I don't think I would buy this beer again and I might turn one down. All in all I wasn't a big fan of this beer, it's ok for the style, but it wasn't something that I really enjoyed. It's one of my least favorite Boulevard beers and it's average at best for the style. Better luck next time guys, this one just wasn't for me.

I will hand it to Boulevard in the sense that they have made a beer that has a great amount of authentic ginger aroma & taste. That makes it all the more surprising how artifical & cloying the lemon flavor presents itself. There are very few discernible beer notes, but it's ultimately a decent, inoffensive "thirst quencher" that I'll give a pass to purely because i like ginger.

I have had a shandy aka a randler at a bar before. I'm not horribly opposed to this flavor profile. It is refreshing to drink on a hot day. With this particular Radler, the ginger flavor is very strong. Through out my entire glass, I felt like I was drinking a ginger-lemon soda vs. beer. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I personally would have preferred something a bit more beer tasting.

From a 12 oz can.
Rather pronounced ginger and lemon, with more ginger than optimal for most people, I suspect.
Medium-light body and medium-high carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.

Another canned beer from the master of all things canned, well beer anyway, woodychandler. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a bright yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of lemons, light ginger. Taste is tart lemons up front, some ginger and wheat at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Hazy yellow in body with no head. Aroma of ginger, lemon, and cleaner. Tastes of ginger, lemon zest, Apple, and yellow Gatorade. Light bodied with high carbonation. Despite lacking in looks and aroma, it's refreshing and flavorful.

On tap at The Filling Station. Poured into a plastic cup (oh the woe). Very refreshing and easy to drink. Sweet and full of lemon. Very carbonated. Have it in a hot summer day.

Served from the bottle in a Lagunitas mason jar.

After missing several opportunities to have this on tap during a recent bachelor party bar crawl in Chicago, I was pleased to find it included in the mixed 12-pack I bought. It pours a hazy gold topped by a finger or so of white foam. The nose is a simple torrent of sweet lemon juice. The taste confirms this, though some mild ginger does seep through occasionally near the finish in short bursts. The body is a hefty light, with a light moderate carbonation and a dry, nearly sticky finish. Overall, a nice enough radler, but I would prefer the ginger to play a larger role, serving to balance the lemon a bit. Still, I could easily see enjoying a few krugs of this in some beer garden somewhere.

On draft, pours a bright straw yellow with a fluffy white head that sits on the top.

The nose is lemon zest, ginger root, candy, sugar lemonade and more citrus. The flavor is lemonade with some ginger. Very sweet, sugary. Not very acidic which is nice. No alcohol present, just spicy lemonade. Mouthfeel is a little thin.

Overall, not bad but too sweet for this style.

slightly cloudy and yellow, head started pretty good but didn't last, not much lace.

Aroma big whamo of ginger, much like a couple really tasty ginger beers I've had over the years. Lemon pretty obvious too. Not a whole lot else going. Flavor follows but with a bit more lemon than ginger, opposite the aroma.

Body is light and carbonation is pretty high. Overall this ain't bad but ain't the best ginger beer I've had either. As with any good ginger beer, this would go well with sushi.

The Ginger Lemon Radler is not a beer style I prefer. The beer poured a unfiltered lemon with white head. The scent was dominated by lemon....very faint spice. The taste was like a fizzy lemon ade with a ginger ale finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was nice to try but I would not pursue trying this again.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Lagunitas mason glass.

L: Pours a semi-opaque medium golden color. Thin white head.. no significant lacing.

S: Ginger and lemon... heavy on the ginger.

T/F: Lemonade and ginger... not a lot of 'beer' elements here. Semi-sweet and tart... not a bad sweet/sour combo. The only thing that's not working for me is the ginger. Zesty carbonation... thin in body.

O: A passable radler, that honestly would be better without the ginger. Good for a hot summer's day or after doing some yard work.... maybe good for some chill time on the beach.

Cloudy yellow, minimal head.

This hits the expected notes spot on in both the aroma and flavor.

Ginger is deliciously refreshing while also cutting the tartness of lemon just enough to keep them well balanced. This is dangerously close to a soda, but a little more complex, also nearing sour territory but not quite.

Poured into a .5 l mug.

Look: Opaque sunburnt lemon yellow body under a white airy head. Head recession leaves an even white film. Very light spots of lacing.

Aroma: Faint ginger with some spiciness, a lot of lemon zest, a clean grain bill.

Taste: Tangy, zesty lemonade with a hint of ginger.

Mouthfeel: Light, carbonated.

Overall: Quite refreshing, lots of lemon and citrus. Beer elements are unrecognizable.

A: The beer is rather hazy light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of ginger are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of ginger along with some hints of lemon citrus.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has some refreshing properties. With ginger in the smell and taste, this probably would make for a good pairing with some sushi.

This beer pours a slightly cloudy yellow with a full head. There is a solid amount of ginger in the aroma, a little lemon, and a wheat like base beer scent. The flavor offers a stronger taste of lemon juice, ginger, with some spice. It mild and very pleasant. The mouthfeel is very light and fizzy. Overall this is light, refreshing, and well done.

Poured from a 12oz. can into a straight "stange" glass.
Cloudy lemon in color, with moderate cap of bright white foam.
Aroma-Lemon and ginger notes
Taste-Pale malt, lemon, ginger adds a pleasant spicy note. Easy-drinking and refreshing, the ginger tamps down the sweetness nicely. A no-brainer with a sushi plate or light seafood dish.

Looks good, like a less cloudy witbier. Smells like citrus. Tasty ginger and lemon flavor. The body is very similar to a medium bodied brew. While a tasty drink, I'd probably stop after two.

Can at Lulu's. First impression is a ginger ale cut with lemonade. Doesn't taste like beer, but very refreshing. Not a radler, but in the traditional sense, but a nice summer quaff

12 oz can, tulip glass

A – Yellow, medium gold. Very, very hazy, cloudy, nearing opaque. An inch-plus of thick pure white foam, made of tons of tiny bubbles, effervescent, with moderately short retention.

S – Lemon-lime soda, the nose of a fresh Sprite, with a dose of spicy ginger following and lingering. A bit of floury malt aroma.

T – Again, lemon-lime soda, but a much more natural fruit flavor than in a Sprite/7Up. Ginger is very light here, only contributing a touch of spice. No real evidence of malt or hop flavors.

M – Very high carbonation, but light and spritzy, which helps offset a very high level of sweetness, pretty well balanced between the two. No bitterness, just a very light snap from the ginger. Despite sugar, has a moderately dry finish.

O – Very refreshing, fairly bright and tart, a great alternative to soda on a hot summer day. Not sure this does much to differentiate itself within the radler/shandy style, but who says it has to?
