Poured a yellow-golden color with a 3 F head.
Good aroma: mostly ginger, some malt, and sweet.
Moderately carbonated.
The taste is similar to ginger ale- not much different.
There is also a certain sweetness to the taste which some craft beer drinkers may not appreciate. The ginger was overwhelming to me- the beer tasted more like ginger ale and not beer.

Overall, it's actually a well brewed beer. Lightly carbonated, sweet, heavily ginger.
It's just not my style.

This is a very good tasting beverage. Lots of lemon with little zings of ginger here and there. Smells delicious too, like sweet lemonade. It reminds me of a shandy, but with even more juicy lemonade flavor. It's hard to think of this as a beer, reminds me more of a mixed drink, but boy it sure does taste good.

Love this beer but it's hard to come by in area, only two stores sell it, so when you buy it you have to stock up.

It's a very refreshing beer. I hope Boulevard continues to make it.

I picked up a can of Boulevard's Ginger-Lemon Radler for $1.69 at The Lager Mill. It's pretty hot today and I thought it would be a good time to try a new Radler, so let's see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a 12oz can into imperial pint glass.

A- The can looks good, it's got a nice design and it's eye catching. It poured a hazy pale yellow color that took on more of a brighter yellow color similar to lemonade when held to the light with under a half a fingers worth of off white bubbly head that faded to nothing and it didn't really leave and lacing behind. This is an ok looking beer, it seems to be pretty standard looking for the style.

S- The aroma starts off with a lower amount of high sweetness with a sweet candied lemon aroma being the first to show up and it goes into more of a lemonade like aroma with the ginger being noticeable in the background and it had a little bit of ginger ale like aspect to it. Towards the end there's some more sweet malt like aromas with no other malty aroma showing up and it had a typical alcopop aroma. The aroma is ok, it's pretty standard for the style, but it's not very beer like.

T- The taste seems to be fairly similar to the aroma and it starts off with that same higher amount of sweetness with the lemonade flavors being the first to show up and it's just a little lighter than it was in the aroma and it's followed by the ginger which imparts that same ginger ale aspect that I got in the aroma and it's also a little lighter this time. Up next comes a slightly higher amount of medium tartness followed by some malt flavors with some grainy, pale malt and doughy malt flavors with some lingering tartness on the finish with a citrus and lemon like alcopop aftertaste. This is an ok tasting Radler, but to me that flavors to blend that well together.

M- Fairly smooth, a little refreshing, pretty crisp, not too acidic, on the thicker side of being light bodied with a lower amount of high carbonation. This beer has a pretty nice mouthfeel, it;s what I would expect from the style.

Overall I thought this was an ok beer and I thought it was pretty average for the style, nothing really stood out about it except for the things I didn't like and it felt like it was just a little bit of beer mixed with half lemonade and half ginger ale. This beer didn't have the best drinkability, one is more than enough for me. What I like the most about this beer is the mouthfeel, it's pretty nice and it works well with this beer. What I like the least about this beer is the way the flavors blend together, they just clash a little and it isn't a flavor that makes me want to come back for more. I don't think I would buy this beer again and I might turn one down. All in all I wasn't a big fan of this beer, it's ok for the style, but it wasn't something that I really enjoyed. It's one of my least favorite Boulevard beers and it's average at best for the style. Better luck next time guys, this one just wasn't for me.

Looks good, like a less cloudy witbier. Smells like citrus. Tasty ginger and lemon flavor. The body is very similar to a medium bodied brew. While a tasty drink, I'd probably stop after two.

From a 12 oz can.
Rather pronounced ginger and lemon, with more ginger than optimal for most people, I suspect.
Medium-light body and medium-high carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.

Can at Lulu's. First impression is a ginger ale cut with lemonade. Doesn't taste like beer, but very refreshing. Not a radler, but in the traditional sense, but a nice summer quaff

Well balanced raddler. Lemon and ginger complement one another well and aren't too heavy. Perfect for a hot summer day outside. Smells more Meyer lemon. Light carbonation adds to refreshment.

12 ounce can into pint glass, best before 5/23/2016. Pours hazy golden straw color with a 2 finger foamy and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lightly tart lemon, lime, ginger, wheat, and cracker; with light pepper, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of lemon/ginger, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart lemon, lime, ginger, wheat, and cracker; with light pepper, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and ginger spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, ginger, wheat, cracker, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice robustness and balance of lemon/ginger, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Good dryness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.1%. Overall this is a very good radler. All around good robustness and balance of lemon/ginger, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast flavors; and very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Aroma is sweet, with ginger dominating and a lemon juice note at the finish.

Flavor is similar, fairly sweet, but the lemon starts sour and falls off mid palate, with ginger lingering in the aftertaste. A bit too sweet for my liking.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a hazy yellowish orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Not much of a head.

Smell: A crisp and zesty aroma with a scent of lemon and ginger. Upfront scent of lemon zest with some hints of lime and pineapple. Good scent of ginger spicing. Sweet hints of sugar. Pale malt with some hints of wheat and cracker. A solid ginger ale like aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a crisp and zesty Ginger ale taste with notes of lemon and ginger. Zesty notes of lemon along with some notes of lime and slight pineapple. Solid notes of ginger. Sweet taste of sugar. Pale malt with some wheat and cracker. A pretty nice taste.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Crisp, prickly, and pretty smooth.

Overall: A very solid take on a Radler. Nice Ginger Ale flavor with balanced bitterness and sweetness.

Cloudy yellow, minimal head.

This hits the expected notes spot on in both the aroma and flavor.

Ginger is deliciously refreshing while also cutting the tartness of lemon just enough to keep them well balanced. This is dangerously close to a soda, but a little more complex, also nearing sour territory but not quite.

look: 3.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 3 | overall: 4

APPEARANCE: The heads foams up a LOT more than I expected from a beer like this. It fills about half the glass and looks and acts more like the head of a soda than a beer; big, aggressive, lively bubbles that pop very quickly and might even send a few small geysers into the air. The color is a hazy, straw, pale yellow. The head goes away fairly quickly (in 30 seconds or so) and the head is negligible.

SMELL: We have a farmer’s market in my town that always has these really great ginger-lemonades for sale. I truly cannot think of anything else when I stick my nose in this glass. It smells exactly like that really delicious ginger lemonade. Not very complex, but who cares? It smells fantastic.

TASTE: The lemon is extremely strong, but a slight sugariness covers that and makes it very drinkable. The ginger holds it all together. Again, this is not the most complex beer, but it the flavor is aggressively delicious.

MOUTHFEEL: The lemon is strong enough to provide a bit of a pucker, which is instantly followed with a nice bite of ginger. Yes, lemonade is typically overly sugared and very sweet, but this is a more “natural” lemonade flavor. The bitterness of the lemon still shines through and the bite from the ginger pitches in to help keep this beer balanced.

OVERALL: This beer won’t completely blow away most craft beer lovers. It will, however, surprise some of them who thought this was just another shandy. The is certainly a crossover beer that can be enjoyed by both craft connoisseurs and novices. Also, it’s dangerously gulpable.

ON DRAFT AT THE END OF AUGUST AT A D.C.BREW PUB.

THIS IS MY SECOND BOULEVARD BREWING CO. BEER. I'M NOT A FRUIT OR SHANDY TYPE BEER FAN BUT I MUST GIVE THIS DRAFT (SERVED IN A TULIP GLASS IF I RECALL) ITS PROPS.

IT HAD A VERY NICE AND REFRESHING MOUTH FEEL AS MY FIRST BEER ON THAT HOT SUMMER AFTERNOON IN D.C.

DID NOT PEER IT WITH FOOD.

A nice summer Radler. Not the best I've had but very nice. I drank 5 or six out of my growler while working around the house and never got buzzed. So a nice refreshing beer with out a high alcohol content.

A: Pours a hazy pale yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation and a hint of lemon + straw yellow highlights. The beer has a half finger tall fizzy foamy bright white head that quickly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus lemon (more lemonade than just lemon) and light aromas of spicy fresh ginger.

T: Upfront there is a light flavor of grainy malts with a moderate flavor of lemon citrus/lemonade with a light amount of sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of slightly spicy fresh ginger. Minimal amounts of bitterness in the finish which fades away almost instantly.

M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Easy to drink and refreshing. Pairs really well with spicy Indian food but I could see it matching well with many different Asian dishes. Enjoyable and very nice on a warm summer evening.

Poured from a 12oz. can into a straight "stange" glass.
Cloudy lemon in color, with moderate cap of bright white foam.
Aroma-Lemon and ginger notes
Taste-Pale malt, lemon, ginger adds a pleasant spicy note. Easy-drinking and refreshing, the ginger tamps down the sweetness nicely. A no-brainer with a sushi plate or light seafood dish.

12 fl oz. can, best by 07/18/2015 printed on the bottom of the can. 4.10% abv also listed on the can bottom. "Hand-crafted and packaged under the supervision of Boulevard Brewing Company, Kansas City, Missouri by Third Street Brewhouse, Cold Spring Minnesota". I love radlers, so I have good expectations.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours the typical cloudy pale lemon body. Three fingers of big fizzy white head that fizzles it's way down quickly. Looks nice for what it is, but radlers are hard to rate on a traditional beer scale sometimes.

S - The aroma is bit weak, as most in this style are. A touch of lemony citrus & ginger, white sugar, and even a bit of wheaty / grainy 'beer' base presence is there when given a nice swirl.

T - Taste is very smooth and clean. Hardly any traditional 'beer' flavors are present at all. No yeast, no hops, very little wheat / grainy malt presence. Mostly all lemon - ginger citrus soda pop. The ginger lends a sort of lingering spice that builds on the finish.

M - The feel is smooth, crisp, & clean. Light-bodied as can be and very easy-drinking. The higher abv for this style goes unnoticed.

Overall, a nice take on the traditional radler style beer from Boulevard, with a touch more abv. The ginger spice does begin to overwhelm me a tad towards the end, so I'm not sure how many of these I could go for, but very refreshing and recommended.

I don't care if a Radler is a lame ass way to drink beer...however this one is so damn tasty. I thought I was gonna hate it and the opposite happened. The ginger off sets the lemon and it all balances perfectly.

Another canned beer from the master of all things canned, well beer anyway, woodychandler. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a bright yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of lemons, light ginger. Taste is tart lemons up front, some ginger and wheat at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

A: The beer is rather hazy light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of ginger are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of ginger along with some hints of lemon citrus.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has some refreshing properties. With ginger in the smell and taste, this probably would make for a good pairing with some sushi.
