Look: hazy pale gold. Big foamy head that mostly recedes.
Smell: pretty light nose, though pleasant enough. Hint of citrus.
Taste. Much like the nose. Not a lot going on but quite drinkable.

I picked up a bottle of Boulevard's Unfiltered Wheat in their new variety pack at The Lager Mill. I'm working my way through this variety pack and I thought it was time to give this wheat beer a try, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a weizen glass.

A- The label looks nice, it's got a nice design and it's just a little eye catching. It poured a cloudy orange yellow color that took on more of golden color when held to the light and it had a little over two fingers worth of creamy slightly off white head that died down to a thin layer that eventually faded away and it left some nice patchy lacing behind. This is a good looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with a little bit of doughy yeast being the first to show up and it's followed by a nice lemon peel and citrus aroma that's followed by the malts which impart a wheat, bready and biscuit malt like aromas. This beer has a good aroma, I like it and it's a little unique for the style.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the doughy yeast still being the first to show up and it quickly goes into those nice lemon juice and rind aspects that I got in the aroma and it's a little stronger. Up next comes the malts which impart all the same aspects that they did in the aroma, but this time there's also a little bit of a grainy aspect to it. On the finish there's hardly any bitterness with a slight bit of tartness with lemon, biscuit and bready malt aftertaste. THis is a good tasting beer, I like that it's unique.

M- Smooth, a little refreshing, a little crisp, medium bodied with a slightly higher amount of medium carbonation. This beer has a good mouthfeel that works well with it.

Overall I thought this was a good beer and a good and unique example of the style, it threw me off at first because it didn't rely on the typical orange rind flavors that most of the beers in this style goes for, instead or oranges it took a lemon approach to this style and I thought it worked out well and it was nice for the hot weather. This beer had good drinkability, I could drink a few of these, especially when it's hot out. What I like the most about this beer is how unique it is, it's not a like a lot of the beers in this style. What I like the least about this beer is nothing, there's isn't anything that I would change, it's good just the way it is. I would buy this beer on it's own, especially if it's hot out and I would recommend it to anyone that like more of lemon flavored wheat beer. All in all I was happy with this beer and a little impressed that they didn't go the typical route with this one and I think ti payed off. It's one of the better Boulevard beers I've had and it's one of the better lemon flavored wheat beers I've had. Good job guys, this is a tasty and unique beer, keep it up.

APPEARANCE: Very hazy and lemon in color. Good carbonation rising. About a finger of white, creamy head that slowly makes its way down to a thin layer. Leaves some minor lacing down the glass.
AROMA: Wheaty, citrus...mostly lemon.
TASTE: Again, wheat, lemon, nice breadiness, minor spicy quality.
FEEL: Thought the carbonation would be higher...slightly below average. Soft on the palate and dry.
OVERALL: Ok, be nice on a hot day and not disgustingly sweet like some shandys.

Hits those super cloudy and yellow notes. Plenty of wheat suspended throughout this one. Aroma imparted mild winter wheat notes.

Taste came across with a chewy mouthfeel, a little bit of lemon like citrus and some banana from the yeast. Could taste hops too. Not overly done for style. Its pretty easy drinking and effortless stuff for the most part.

One part German hefeweizen and two parts American pale wheat, Boulevard's Unfiltered Wheat brings a cloudy bright yellow to the eye. One kiss of banana puts this wheat ale a small step above the commonly safe wheat beer that tries to cross over to Bud Light drinkers.

Look - Poured from a 12 oz. bottle. It has a blonde to yellow color, fairly bright. Cloudy, but not as cloudy as I'd like to see in a wheat beer. Fairly thin fast dissipating head. Medium carbonation.

Smell - Very light, almost too light, good citrus aroma and wheat.

Taste - Very good citrus flavor. Initial taste is subtle, but as it lingers, the flavors really manifest nicely. The wheat flavor really comes out on the swallow.

Feel - Wasn't expecting anything too heavy, but this is a little lighter than I'd like. Carbonation is there, but still comes off just a tad too watery.

Overall - Another good beer from Boulevard. Note: I said good. This would be great at a baseball game or after working outside in the summer. The beer is relaxed and light, and as such, would be great to drink while relaxing.

Extra Notes - Like much (but not all) of Boulevard's brews, this one is the standard for it's type. And when I say "standard," I do not mean "Gold Standard," just standard. What that means is, you will find nothing particularly special about it, but for it's type (in this case an Unfiltered Wheat Ale, or American Pale Wheat Ale) it's the standard. Not "average," as "average" carries with it negative connotations. But when you think of a Wheat Beer, this is the standard that you imagine. It's not going to blow your mind, but it's not going to let you down either.

Not a fan of the typical wheat I found this to be nice and drinkable. Obvious wheat malt starts before It moves into a light bubblegum yeast and even banana. No clove flavor, which is a plus, it drinks fairly smooth and dry.

Hazey golden color. Little white head. Smell of wheat, citrus, lemon, and yeast. Tastes of lemon with notes of the sweet malts with a little spice. Very clean finish. This was my first non AB beer. Very light and clean. Good beer to just sip during summer

Poured from bottle into tulip beer glass. Golden color, slightly cloudy. What Iwould expect from an unfiltered beer. Very strong yeast nose, but not unpleasant. Clean taste. Very good balance between malt and hops. No bitterness at all. This is what I want from a wheat beer. Clean mouth feel. In my humble opinion, this is an excellent beer!

An opaque yellow-orange occupies the glass with a thin white head that disappears quickly leaving behind no lace, emitting a wheat aroma. Wheat and orange both appear upon tasting this tasty, simple brew. The feel is fairly smooth, but a bit harsh on the carbonation. Still a good mouth feel. Overall, this is a great beer. Simple, and tasty. Nothing spectacular, but a great beer for a summer day while grilling.

Look: Bright blonde color with plenty of carbonation and a cloudy body. A thick white head tops it off, fluffy and dense towards the bottom, but the head only lasts about a minute and a half.

Smell: Light overall, floral with hints of citrus fruits. There are some mild grape and strawberry smells mixed in as well.
Taste: Strong malts and lemon rind upfront, sweet overall and a mild bitterness as you swallow.
feel: crisp, carbonated and light bodied
Overall, not a bad ale, very smooth and refreshing.

This beer pour a very pale straw with a large head. The aroma is very light, and slightly fruity - I get orange peel, unripe strawberry, and a bit of baking yeast. The flavor is vanishingly light, slightly bready, with some rather charcoal like bitter notes. The mouthfeel is super thin, almost watery, with a large amount of fizz. Overall this is not a flavorful example of a wheat beer. It's chief virtue is that it is refreshing, but refreshment can be had with far more flavor.

Opened this beer and poured it in a glass. Took a big whiff, and nothing. Took a big drink, and nothing. Felt like I was just drinking water. I really tasted nothing out of this beer.

Appearance: Clear and golden with a slight haze and a bright white head that thins out quick.

Aroma: Yeasty, lemon zest, light apple and pear with a bit of a biscuit note in the nose. A wisp of banana towards the back.

Taste: Very crisp in the front. Lemon zest, pear, banana and a crisp dry finish.

Notes: All in all it's a solid beer a quite drinkable. Cheers.

Poured from a 12oz can into a speiglau wheat glass.

Color is hazy golden yellow with a frothy thin head.

Aroma is funky wheat- slightly saisonish. Slight banana notes lots of esters.

Taste is thin with a clean crisp wheat note not much of the aroma coming through in the taste.

Easy summer beer, close to a craft lawnmower beer.

This is probably a perfectly fine beer, just not my cup of tea, so to speak. Drank from the bottle at a picnic, so don't know what it looked like. It didn't smell bad, it just didn't smell like much of anything. Same thing with taste and feel. Just a bit bland and watery. Nice carbonation I suppose, and plenty pleasant to go with popcorn, hotdogs and a baseball game.

Pretty solid wheat beer in my opinion. Hazy deep straw gold, with the usual supsects in the nose--light cracker, faint citrus, and white pepper, with a bright yeasty backbone. Taste is smooth and refreshing, on a crisp light body. Lots of soft, grainy, honey-kissed wheat. Hints of banana, lemon, and pear with a note of granny smith apple peel. Overall, it's probably a bit on the sweet side for me to have more than one in a sitting, but definitely a beer I enjoy.

Best by 10/18/15.

Pours a murky yellow-orange with a foamy white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, cracker, yeast, and slight citrus fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with wheat, cracker, and earth flavors on the finish. There is a very mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable, but the flavors are a bit boring compared to other beers of the style.

Serving type: can.

It's never good when you drink a beer, that the moment you get close to finishing a beer, that you feel as if you need to spit out the beer, as the taste is to bitter and lingering.

Look: Very cloudy rich color
Smell: You get exactly what's advertised: Unfiltered wheat with a slight citrus tone
Taste: WHEAT...very subtle citrus notes but the wheat takes center stage
Feel: Very smooth silky feel...finishes smooth with warmth and richness of wheat.
This is currently my favorite beer. A fully satisfying session beer in which every swig is treasured.
