Pours dark chestnut brown color with large yeast sediment chunks floating around as it produces a 2 finger thick foamy tan colored head that was packed with bubbled that popped as the head dissipated on the quick side, leaving minimal spotty lacing and a layer on top.

Smells sweet up front like cherries and dark fruit such as plum, raisins and dates. After that I get red wine, bread pudding, maple syrup, toffee, brown sugar, faint bourbon, oaky notes and more sweet dark fruit. It seems too blended and muted or watered down, and not as robust as expected. I bought this figuring it would be like a Firestone Walker Anniversary Ale, but the sweetness overtakes the barrel influences.

Tastes nearly as sweet as the nose, but thankfully there is some booze, woody notes and heat to dial it down and make it more enjoyable. The sweetness is a tad bit too much for me, but is closer to what I expected this would be like with brown sugar, faint bourbon, dark fruit including cherries, plum, raisins and dates, red wine like a merlot, oaky notes, maple syrup, toffee, vanilla extract, tart green apple, rye or some other peppery spice and then more sweet dark fruit. No stout notes or roasted accents, which I think could have cut down the sweetness. This does mask the ABV quite well.

Mouthfeel is slick and an odd mix in that it seems watery as it goes down but coated my tongue and felt thick while in my mouth. Minimal carbonation lets this slide down quick so the booze heat doesn't sting, bringing earthy notes and a rum bourbon essence before the sweetness kicks in again as it fades away on the dry side.

Overall I was disappointed because this has the foundation to be a great blended strong ale but just didn't get past the cloying sweetness. The sum was not better than all of the parts here, because I loved Velvet Merkin and Stickee Monkee and thought Bourbon Barrel Quad was really good, but this just didn't work out as well as I'd hoped for. A for effort here but it was not worth the price of this bottle.

750 mL bottle from 2016. Collaboration with Firestone, which sounds good to me. Poured into Behind the Veil glass.

L: Shiny jet black (no other way to describe). 2F off-white head, leaving a little bit of lacing and a ring.

S: Caramel malts, roasted malts, bourbon barrel, cherry. Everything except the Velvet Merkin has a place in the nose. I'll bet you can find it in the taste.

T: Caramel malts, roasted malts, flaked oats (there it is!), a bit of chocolate, cherry, bourbon and bourbon barrel. A lot going on and it tastes quite good. A little bit of alcohol heat on finish. Sweetness does not run away at all.

F: Surprisingly medium-bodied and drinkable, but does pack a huge punch. Little carbonation to speak of. Very solid construction and balance. Only a little bit of alcohol heat.

O: With great respect, you guys are grading this too low. This is good, good stuff. Doesn't need aging (in fact, says drink by 9/18), but I do wonder if that extra year might make it even better.

Good beer. Pours deep brown. Smell has the cherry there but not a ton of barrel. Flavor profile consists of tart cherry, slight chocolate, and some dark fruit. The finish is clean. Overall good collaboration. The quad from stickee monkey shines through but without the barrel.

Bottle Date: best by 10/7/18
Palate Contaminants: none

Appearance is dark brown, not letting any light through. There's also a surprising amount of carbonation, but not much head.

If a maple cola existed, this is about what it would smell like. There's some sweet rum in the background, but maple and cola are pretty strong.

The taste is far different, with the principals being charred barrel and molasses. It's still sweet, but that's dialed back. Slightly bitter. Moderate amount of anise. There's alcohol, but it's not via the usual burn. If I'd relate it to anything, I'll say cask-strength bourbon, but with scotch peat. So, if you like smokiness, this is for you. Concentrated cherry flavor as it warms up. I'm so-so on the taste for the type. The individual parts are greater than the sum.

Carbonation is a bit foamy, but not excessive. The sharpness in the charred barrel taste is less in the aftertaste. Anise hangs around, too. Weight is moderate.

Pours into a goblet a deep mahogany with a thick lighter beige head that settles into a creamy mass, nice rich color here. The nose is great with a mix of toasted oak, bourbon, and tart cherries, even a hint of bitter chocolate with all the different beers from the "blend" coming into play.Flavors of raisin and caramel upfront with vanilla tinged bourbon melding with the mild tart cherry element midway, not much roast but some chocolate comes into play as I drink more.Alot of stuff going on with four unique different beers being blended together,a joy to drink.

Pours an opaque dark brown with a foamy tan head that leaves sheets of lace.
Aroma is chocolate, roast with some tart notes and some dark cherry.
Flavor is dark chocolate, roast, cherry, boozy, slightly funky and some sweet milk chocolate notes.
Mouthfeel is smooth and very creamy.
Really good but I'm not sure it's greater than the sum of its parts.

Had on tap. Pours slightly cloudy, chestnut brown in color with minimal head. Taste is raisin, fig, dark cherry, vanilla, and bourbon. Complex, heavy bodied, and sweet. Can taste aspects of each of the beers except for the Velvet Merkin. Drinks like a complex English barleywine. Very, very good. I prefer some others in the style, but this is worth seeking out.

Was very excited to try this beer. Pours a very dark brown with big booming head. Smells reminiscent of a quad, with flavors that follow. A hint of cherry. I did not pick up any barrel flavors, but the back end had a fairly unflattering alcohol presence. Worth a shot and well priced at $11.99, but will not be picking up additional bottles.

Boulevard Collaboration No. 6 on tap at the Pour Taproom in Greenville, SC.

Appearance: dark brown, clear body with a very good tan head with some lacing.

Flavor: this is a fairly rich and flavorful ale with high complexity and good balance. Very lightly sweet with plenty of bourbon and more subtle, wood, dark fruit, dried cherries and vanilla notes.

Feel: medium-light body is a bit thin but smooth with appropriate, medium carbonation.

Overall: excellent.

Slightly hazy dark amber color with beige head. Aroma has fruity quad notes, caramel, burnt sugar and light tart balsamic vinegar. Taste is quite "belgian", like a slightly tart quad. There are some caramel and butterscotch notes in the background with a lingering bourbon aftertaste. Medium to full bodied, quite well carbonated. Overall it's a nice, quad style blend with a smooth bourbon flavor.
