Cloudy, yellow, small white head with a musty yeast smell. Taste is light lemony notes and musty belgian yeast along with some wheat. The smells of these types of beer remind me of trash. So so drinkability for this beer but I opted to dump and move on to the next one as it just isn't my speed.

Bottle best by 10/15/11

P: Poured a light golden pineapple juice appearance with no head. Good amount of bubbles but docile for the most part.

S: Wheat, yeast, Taft mild citrus with small amount of spice.

T/M: Nice carbonation, mild bitterness, citrus and dirty wheat. Tastes like watered down grapefruit juice with a lingering b-vitamin aftertaste.

O: Not a fan! I was excited to try this since I loved the Two Jokers, but odiously this one has it's flaws. I will try a fresh bottle next time to get a fair evaluation.

Got this in a custom 6-pack from World Market.
Poured from a bottle into a chalice.

A - Hazy yellow, like freshly squeezed lemon juice.

S - A hint of orange, but nothing else.

T - Very light taste, maybe some citrus flavor, but not much.

M - Carbonated and easy to drink with little to no aftertaste.

Summary - Not very good overall. It's really not much of a beer. It's too light and flavorless to be a Witbier. I'm not getting this one again. Glad I didn't get a 6-pack.

Appearance: Cloudy golden yellow with a thick head.

Smell: Wheat, orange, and coriander. Nothing powerful, very soft.

Taste: A citrus and yeast overpower the coriander and banana. Again nothing special.

Mouthfeel/drinkability: High carbonation is good but it is a bit watery and plain.

Not very impressed with this beer. Feels like they took their Unfiltered Wheat beer and tried to make it into a witbier.

Pours very hazy off yellow with not much head. Has almost zero aroma. Mouthfeel/drinkability is VERY watery, very akin to BMC. Taste gives only a slight hint of coriander and lemon, but it leaves so quickly I had to continually take sips to re-affirm that it was there.

I wouldn't buy this one, and would opt for the Unfiltered Wheat if faced with the choice because at least the Unfiltered Wheat version doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. This is really a bad interpretation of a witbier, and there are many other better beers that could be had if this was the style that was being sought.

12oz bottle picked up in the boulevard mixed 12 pack. drank from my samuel adams perfect pint glass. best by august of 2011.

A- a hearty pour yields a pale straw colored body with a moderate haze to it. there is a small bright white head that forms on top. the head falls pretty fast and leaves behind only small spots of lacing.

S- the smell is pretty subdued. light odor of malted wheat comes up first followed by a small amount of clove and yeast. light lemon zest and earthy hops at the end.

T- the taste starts out with the malted wheat that i could smell and is supplimented with other pale malts. after that i get a small amount of yeast and some faint clove. lemon zest sneaks in after that. at the finish there are some faint earthy hops.

M- the body is light and watery with a high level of carbonation. not the best combination.

O- this is a pretty weak beer overall. not something i can see myself seeking out again. the one thing it has going for it is the weak strength, but there are more flavorful beers out there with the same ABV

12-oz bottle into small glass mug

A - large foamy white head over a cloudy light yellow body; lots of small rising carbonation bubbles

S - funky like Belgian yeast, cloves, maybe a hint of wheat; not appealing to my taste

T - Belgian yeast, orange and spice, wheat

M - creamy light body, low/medium carbonation, refreshing

O - just not very good all-around

The smell coming off this beer as it is poured is great. My mouth got excited by the aroma of yeast, bread & fruit. The beer is definitely hazy and looks thick.

But the smell and looks are deceiving. The beer is thin on the tongue and the taste, while there was something in the aftertaste, was just not there.

About half way through the beer, I decided to try adding an orange slice and beer sucked up the flavor and refused to give it back. It was like a black hole.

I could see myself drinking a few of these as lawnmower beers, but there are so many better wit beirs, it would have to be on sale for me to purchase more.

12 oz bottle, best by 8/3/09. Pours a hazy dark yellow with a pillowy white head that quickly goes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is wheaty malts with some banana and clove spices and a little sweet fruit.

The flavor is very subdued - some wheat malts with some light banana/clove spices and bitterness at the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation.

Overall, it's pretty subdued and flavorless. Otherwise had potential to be good wit.

Not impressed.

A: Anaemic, and a thrilling installment of the Great Disappearing Head Mystery.

S: Redeemed itself a little here. A little bit of cinnamon then lemony wit smells.

T: Fairly substandard. It's got a little bit of tang to it and a fairly appealing sweetness halfway through the glass but you could forget that this is a wit.

M: The one thing I expect from a bottle is good carbonation. That just didn't happen here. Feels thin and dishwatery, especially so when coupled with the look.

Would drink this again on a hot day but will never go looking for it.

White cloudy gold with a minimal head that disappears before I finish typing this
Smells of oranges, caramel, and wood.
Tastes of apples and sugar, very mild. Too mild, really.
Mouthfeel is silky but too thin.
Drinkability is good. Nothing to stop you but nothing to keep you

Boulevard showed up at our Fred Meyer. Cool lil cardboard box six pack, but I wish that put as much thought into their beer as they did for package it comes in. Pours very flat. Hazy. Some carb. Watery and very drinkable. Sad taste compared to the real Belgian wits. Not impressed at all. Buy something else from Europe.

GLASS: Pint Glass
TEMP: Chilled to approx 45 degrees

A golden yellow liquid that looks like sunshine in a glass. Slightly hazy. One finger foamy white head that dissolves to nothing, quickly.

Coriander. Tangy wheat notes. Slight hint of orange and cloves.

Wheat taste is dominant. Slight spicey, citrusy notes. Powerful phenol (band aid) taste on the end.

For a very light bodied beer, it maintains a suprising creaminess. The low-level carbonation works for this one.

While I could easily see people drinking many of these on a hot summer day, personally, the phenol taste throws me off. It's just a bit too much.

This beer pours a a cloudy pale yellow color. The head is half an inch in height, and recedes quickly into minimal lacing. The aroma is of mild coriander, and a little orange peel. The taste has more orange and less coriander than the aroma, but is still quite mild. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with carbonation that seems a bit low for a witbier. Overall, this is a weak ezample of a wit. I don't think I will be drinking this again.

Hazy/cloudy brightish yellow....mainly cloves on the nose....kind of thinish in the mouth....decent flavor but far from the top wits...a slight hint of orange's on the buds, but the taste is rather subdued....Ok...nothing more....not bad but nowhere near the top of this class...

poured with a nice white head that mostly subsided and no lace. Color is a hazy medium yellow. Aroma is good with a spice tartness. Smells fresh! Flavor isgood also. I pick up some spice and a little malt, tart light lemon qualities along with some yeast. Body is a tad on the thin side and well carbonated. Finish is clean from the tartness. Don't know if I'd personally want it as a session beer, but could see as how some folks would.

Twelve oz bottle with blue label with the sun and citrus fruit on the front.

Appearance: Cloudy lemony yellowish color. One finger head that quickly dissapates.

Smell: Subdued wit/citrusy odor. Not very strong.

Taste: The wit flavor is not very present. Slighty citrus flavor, lemons, oranges. Somewhat sour as well.

Mouthfeel: Smooth mouthfeel. Pleasant against the tongue.

Drinkability: Not rushing to get another bottle out of the fridge. Although it definitely would be a good mower beer.

pours out a cloudy lemon yellow sun colour; semi-frothy head from active carbonation...little lace. aroma of orange and grapefruit peel...a hint of spice...smells very nice. tastes light and lemony with a hint of clove, spice and other fruit. this one goes down easy! too easy....

mouthfeel is extremely light and zesty...the body of this beer borders on watery. not much substance to this, but an outstanding hot weather quencher to say the least. i could slam a sixer after a day in the sun (or while sitting in the sun) and not have to worry about getting too buzzed or tired.

well...it's not a classic wit by any stretch of the imagination....but it has a purpose and it's pretty drinkable...or slammable. i'd buy it again to slake my thirst during the summer season. worth trying...just make sure you are thirsty!

Reviewed on April 25, 2003:

Slightly yellowy-white hue, hazy body, small white head, fair retention, almost no lace. The nose lacked in potency, the invitation of he coriander and orange peel was almost nil. The palate is refreshing and balanced but, again, where is the coriander and the orange peel? It is a decent beer, but not a very good Wit. Light-medium body, ideal carbonation… smooth. This is merely a “hyped-up” Wheat. In some ways it is better than Boulevard’s Unfiltered Wheat but it disappoints when compared to even New Belgium’s Sunshine Wheat or Blue Moon’s Belgium White.

I was disappointed in this Boulevard product. I’d drink it again but it is not worth purchasing a 6-pack of…

Girlfriend bought the Sampler 12 pack... Here we go.

A - Cloudy lemon colored. Head fades quick, little lace.

S - Yeasty with a little citrus. The wheat is there.

T - Classic wit taste. A little weak on the hop and even though bottle conditioned the carbonation isn't there.

M - Again, a bit watery for my taste...

D - On a lawnmower? I'll take 9. With dinner? Pass.

Pours hazy pale yellow with a thick fluffy head that hangs around awhile.

Aroma is lemon zest, bubblegum, and a touch of yeasty funk.

Taste is sweet and lemony as the nose suggested. Grainy pale malt. Yeast character is musty, with coriander and clove that creates a sort of medicinal flavor. Finish holds slight tartness that lingers.

Mouthfeel is on the thin side.

I found this Wit to be uninspiring. Overall flavor is bland....

Appearance: Very pale yellow, a little cloudy from the yeast.

Smell: Yeast, a little citrus.

Taste: Bready, a little citrus with some yeast aftertaste. I didn't taste any of the usual "wit" spices so this was a little bland to me.

Mouthfeel: Very light.

Drinkability: Decent, but there are much better witbiers out there.

I like wits, so I tried Boulevard's version. I didn't pick up much spice in this so it got a little downgraded. It's better than their unfiltered wheat, but not as good as some of their other beers.

Finally got around to reviewing this one. Poured a 12oz bottle into my Tripel Karmeliet tulip. This beer pours a hazy lemon with a 2 inch head that fades into just a thin cap. Very little lacing is present. The nose is a odd mixture of a traditional hefe and a witbier. Clove and banana are therefrom the traditional hefe and coriander, wheat tanginess, and just a hint of citrus from the wit. To me, its just a odd blend of a.romas The taste is holy coriander. Note to Boulevard, please calm down with the coriander. After that its just a little sour wheat and clove. Man, I get clove and banana off my palate. Just not a huge fan of Zons flavor profile. The mouthfeel is light and mildly carbonated. Overall, I'm just not a fan of this beer.

DON't take this review seriously. I thought this was the worst out of the trial 12pack I got and now I know why. Bottle says best by 10/01/08. Herbs and spices that might have been nice and delicate in this one have long lost their ability to tast good I'm sure so I will have to come back and try this one again someday.

Make sure it is still worth the time spent drinking it!

I have to file a a beer spy on this one!

A - Poured from a 12oz bottle into a long glass. Banana colored. The lightest yellow, but still opaque. A nice half inch of white head.

S - It smells exactly like a Witbier should. Light scent overall, coriander and citrus... like a mandarin and banana.

T - The taste is a bit of a letdown from the great appearance and smell. It is like a watered down version of what it should be. I am just not picking up any real flavors out of this.

M - Soft texture but still sharp on the tongue and moderate to higher carbonation.

D - I am not a big fan of this style, but the appearance and smell really had me excited to try it. However, the taste did not have any real definition to it and the carbonation level started to be annoying as I drank it. But like I always say, try it for yourself.
