Brewed by:
Boulevard Brewing Co.
Missouri, United States

Style: Saison / Farmhouse Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.50%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Saison-Brett, based on our very popular Tank 7, is assertively dry hopped, then bottle conditioned with various yeasts, including Brettanomyces, a wild strain that imparts a distinctive earthy quality. Though this farmhouse ale was given three months of bottle age prior to release, further cellaring will continue to enhance the “Brett” character, if that's what you're after.

This is an wonderful beer.
peach, apricot, and some spiciness with a definite pronouncement of Bret funk. Orange, lemon-grass, and a nice hay flavor that finishes with a crisp bitterness. Medium bodied in a well balanced beer. The only complaints: a tad lighter in body and a lot more brett character in the flavor profile.

2013 vintage poured into a Lost Abbey teku.

A: Straw golden body topped with a massive pillowy head with amazing retention. Beautiful beer.

S: White wine and crisp pear dominate, with supporting notes of apple and citrus. Earthy brett funk becomes more apparent as it warms. As inviting as they come!

T: Tart and vinous notes upfront, almost champagne like. Bitter lemon rind and some mildly fruity brett character round out the flavor. A hint of bready wheat. Not quite as complex as the nose, but still delicious.

M: Highly effervescent and airy mouthfeel, with little to no indication of the moderately high ABV.

O: Fantastic example of a Bretted saison, could literally drink this every day. The extra time in the cellar definitely brought this one even more in my wheelhouse, love what the brett did since last fall.
