Notes / Commercial Description:
”Do you know what dwells in a glass?” asks Ole, in Hans Christian Andersen's The Watchman of the Tower. Better known for stories such as The Little Mermaid, Andersen wrote this short, cautionary tale for a somewhat older audience. Our quadrupel ale, also meant for the mature connoisseur, is a deep and mysterious libation, dark auburn and full-bodied, its sweetness deceptive. As Ole describes the glasses in turn, their contents become more ominous until, in the sixth glass...

Pours a very nice dark apricot color with a generous head and the classic spicy Belgian aroma.
Taste definitely picks up on dates/dark candied fruit with an even amount of spice to balance it out.
I enjoyed this beer very much...i would classify it as an Ommegang's little brother or sister- solidly good for the style, but not the best I've had.

I would try another Boulevard beer for sure though.

Picked up a 4 pack at Old Farm because I had not seen this before and big fan of Quads. Awesome looking beer, great head that grew and has a good, clean smell. Taste is excellent, great balance, did not taste as strong as the 10.5% that is was. Overall is was a great beer that I am glad I have 3 more of and will buy again.
