A: Cloudy golden amber in color. An aggressive pour yields three fingers of frothy, white head. The head has great staying power and leaves behind lots of caked on lacing and a frothy cap. Really nice looking beer.

S: Some lemony citrus and bready malts. Has a good balance of malt sweetness and bitterness from the malts. Nothing spectacular.

T: Lemon, pepper spicyness, bready, slightly toasted malts. Nice, bitter finish. Again, like the smell, nothing spectacular, but solid.

M: On the full side of medium, almost creamy. Dry and bitter.

O: Single Wide is a solid, well balanced, enjoyable beer. I'd be happy to drink this again.

I picked up a bottle of Boulevard's Single-Wide IPA in their variety pack at The Lager Mill. I've haven't had any Boulevard beers before and I'm happy to get the chance to try them now that they are in Michigan, so lets see see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a IPA glass.

A- Th label looks good, it had a nice design that goes with the name and it's a little eye catching. It poured a fairly clear golden amber color that took on more of a burnt orange color when held to the light with almost two fingers worth of creamy slightly off white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some nice rings of patchy lacing behind. This is a good looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with a slightly bit of doughy yeast being the first to show up and it goes right into the hops which impart a floral and citrus rind aroma with a little bit of a spicy and slightly soapy aromas coming through in the background. Up next comes the malts which impart a pale malt, sweet malt and caramel malt aroma and towards the end comes a little more of those citrus hoppy aromas. This beer has a good aroma, it's just what I would expect from an IPA.

T- The taste seems to be pretty similar to the aroma and it starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the hops being the first to show up this time and they impart the same aspects that they did in the aroma, but this time more fruity flavors show up without much of that soapy hop aspect that I got in the aroma. Up next comes a slight bit of doughy yeast that leads into the malts with impart a grainy, pale malt and caramel malt like flavors with just a little bit of sweet malts in the background. On the finish there's a slightly higher amount of medium bitterness with a nice hoppy citrus rind aftertaste. This is a good tasting IPA, it's just what I expect from the style.

M- Pretty smooth, slightly refreshing, crisp on the slightly lighter side of being medium bodied with a higher amount of medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is good and it works well with this beer.

Overall I thought this was a good ber and it's a good example of an IPA, it's pretty much just what I would expect from the style and all the flavors and aromas worked well together with nothing ever seeming out of place. This beer had nice drinkability, I could drink a couple of them. What I like the most about this beer is the balance, it's just where it needs to be and it's very nice for the style. What I like the least about this beer is nothing, there isn't anything that sticks out as not being as good as the other aspects. I would buy this beer on it's own and I would recommend it to any IPA fan. All in all I liked this one and I thought it was just a good example of the style with no weak points. It made for a good first Impression for Boulevard and I'm interested in trying more of their beer, it's good example of an IPA. Good job guys, this is a good IPA, keep it up.

Falling Rock Tap House had this one as well as some other Boulevard brews. That's good to know.

The Single Wide is an AIPA, but almost tastes like a 2IPA. A nice looking beer. Cloudy golden with a dense head that just did not quit. It stayed at about one finger, a quick swirl even 3/4 of the way down produced a 2 finger head. Good lacing.
Hops are dominant. Some citrus and flower, but mostly resin and pine. Alcohol comes out, too.
Not a very balance IPA. Hops are strong. Again, citrus and pine. Grassy, like dry hay on a hot summer day. This is a darn fine beer, perhaps a bit heavy on the hops. Malt was not present.

Picked this up on a recent trip into indiana.

Pours golden and slightly hazy with a twinge of orange and a two fingered white head that dissipates slowly. The smell is all citrus and amarillo hops.

Mouthfeel is a bit oily, but balanced well with the carbonation. You definitely taste the amarillo hops upfront, but they vanish very quickly and you are left with a floral, fruity taste. It's almost like the beer is an IPA in your mouth, then *poof* it turns into a wheat beer finish once you you swallow. It's a lighter IPA, but I think it's an interesting and solid beer. As you drink longer, the hops become more present after you've taken a sip and sat for a while. It's almost like the hop aroma builds up on your breath as you drink and you taste it more and more as you drink.

It's not what a hop-head would be looking for, but if you want something really drinkable for the summer that isn't a wheat or hefe, this is a quality beer.

Pours a semi-hazed apricot with a finger of sand colored head. Good head retention & lacing

S: lots of grassy & lemony hops

T: Grassy, lemony & some grapefruitty hops up front, plus a bit of grapefruit. Grassy & flowery hops are dominant as this warms along with slight breadyness. Finishes crisp with citrus hops & dryness, almost pulled 4.0

MF: Medium bodied with low carbonation, plus nice balance

Drinks really easy, not the most exciting AIPA, but I predict I will be drinking loads of this once Summer hits

12 oz. bottle served in a tulip glass. Pours a hazy golden-orange color with a huge billowy white head that sticks around for a while, good lacing. Aroma is light, sweet malts, a little bit of yeast, a good amount of citrus hops, orange mainly with a touch of earthiness. Flavor is caramel malts, citrus and flowery hops, orange, grapefruit, and a bitter finish. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side, a touch of creaminess, dry finish. Good beer, well balanced.
