Notes / Commercial Description:
Boulevard Single-Wide I.P.A. is our take on a style that originated in 18th century Great Britain. This American version—inspired by our Smokestack Series Double-Wide I.P.A.—boasts a heady combination of six varieties of hops, some of which were employed for dry-hopping.

Poured into a pint glass. Best by date of 5/9/14.

My new house beer. Very quaffable. Well balanced between malty sweet and resin/grapefruit hoppiness. An excellent representation of the style in my opinion. 4.5

A – Pours a clear light golden with a dense off-white two-finger head that dissipates quickly. Very little lacing. 4

S – Fruity, sweet, pineapple, grapefruit, citric. 4.75

T – Slightly sweet, malty, balanced with an excellent profile of both resiny and citric hop flavors. 4.5

MF – Crisp, medium bodied, medium dry finish. 4.5

A - Pours a slightly hazy gold with significant visible carbonation. The head retains forever and leaves nice consistent lacing on the glass. Pretty beer.

S - Smell is mild, but present. I get a good combination of bready/toasty malts and a bit of citrus.

T - Well balanced beer in my opinion. The characteristic bitterness is present throughout, but the flavor changes subtly between the bready malt and what presents itself as a slightly grapefruity hop flavor. There is also a hint of pine.

M - Medium-full bodied with a refreshing finish. Clean.

O - Nice beer. It doesn't stand out in a crowd, and I can find better value for my money, but if someone hosting a party had this on hand I would be pretty happy about it.

look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

A: Pale yellow in color, with a nice full white head. The body is a bit hazy, but I am guessing from bottle carbonation.

S: Lemongrass, orange peel, some tropical fruit, and perhaps a little grass in there as well. Not a lot from the grain, but the aroma rounds out with a nice hit of grapefruit peel.

T: Sharp hoppiness comes out, grapefruit and lemongrass come out right away, behind that there is a little bit of an almost tartness to it. The finish is more fruit flavors from the hops, and a little lingering bitterness. I wish there was a little more of the malt character present.

M: Fairly high carbonation, fine in texture. A touch of carbonic bite, and a little thin on the mouth-feel.

O: Overall it is pretty decent, although I wish there was a little more complexity to the flavor as well as a little more body.

12 fl.oz. bottle
Served in a conical pint glass

A - This beer is amber in color with several inches of rocky, off-white head.

S - The aroma has some nice citrus notes. The caramel malt is detectable.

T - The taste is citrus. There is nothing overwhelming, but it is a good citrus flavor.

M - Moderate

O - This is a pretty good IPA. It is a good everyday IPA.
