Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard we have fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were experimenting with variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a big surge of fruity aromatics and grapefruit-hoppy notes, the flavor of this complex, straw-colored ale tapers off to a peppery, dry finish.

Orange-brown in the glass, opaqie, thick two fingers of foamy head. Smells funky! Barnyard. Similar taste. Belgian yeast and funk. I love saisons. Solid carbonation, dry finish. High-class beer.

One of my favorites. I’ve been to the brewery a few times. Unfortunately I have a hard time finding it where I live, so I need to take advantage when I can.

A good saison. Golden color, nice carbonation, and a hop-forward nose. The grapefruit definitely stands out, and sometimes it seems like just a bit too much.

One of the best. Better than some Belgiums. Refreshing and full bodied at the same time.

Deep gold pour, frothy off white head. Nose is yeast and citrus.

Taste is citrus rind, earthy yeast, light to medium kilned malt, little caramel, spice. Medium to heavy mouthfeel. Finish is spicy, citrusy, earthy, delicious.

Bottle at Coriasso's, served in a trappist glass.
Golden colour, medium head with long retention, sticky lacing.
Aroma is spicy, cloves, bananas, oranges, grapes, fruits stone, pine.
Medium body, average carbonation. Sweet hoppy finish.
Taste follows the aroma.
Pretty good.
