BEER INFO

Brewed by:
Boulevard Brewing Co.

Style: Saison / Farmhouse Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard we have fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were experimenting with variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a big surge of fruity aromatics and grapefruit-hoppy notes, the flavor of this complex, straw-colored ale tapers off to a peppery, dry finish.

As a non saison fan, this beer has been consumed by me a number of times.

Favorite farmhouse because of the balance and character it reveals in the mouth and going down. Rich and spicy and walks the line between golden and saison.

Smell didn't do it for me. Awesome color and smooth but overall not feeling the beer overall. Maybe just an off day. Didn't truly care for. Love other Boulevard beers. Not this one though.

Pours a hazy yellow with a large white lasting head. Aroma is of citrus pine, some ripe fruit, yeast and pale malt. Taste same as aroma with a bit of spiciness, citrus floral hops bitterness. A medium body on the palate, good lively carbonation. Finish is sweet citrus and fruity, mild spicy peppery, some tart notes, pale malt, yeast, has a ripe fruit flavor on the ending with a slight dry bitterness. Overall a good full flavored saison.
