Boulevard Amber Ale is an exceptionally well-balanced beer, complex yet thirst-quenching. American pale malt provides a firm foundation. English specialty malts impart a nutty sweetness, perfectly complemented by noble German hops. The deep coppery color holds the light, reflecting a ruddy glow, and the finish is clean, round, and delicious.

poured semi rigorously producing about an inch of tan head. Settling quickly and leaving a cap of retention and moderate lace webs.
Deep redish amber color, a touch of orange, but mostly a caramel red.
Aroma is malt forward, some mild roasted character, fruity too with vinous likeness.
Mouthfeel is solid, decent carbonation and a touch of slick feel.
Crisp hop flavors upfront with fruit and mild charred caramel. Malt shines midway through as well as some mild figs. Mild hops across the finish, lingering just enough to be detected, but as little as to maybe be missed.
Terrific brew, sessionable and plenty of flavor. I might have to grab a six pack, as this one was purchased as a single.

Amber Ale has been retired, and I guess I get why. As good as Pale Ale is, why bother making something that is kind of similar? I had this in a sampler pack and it was good, but just kind of there. Others in the package were much more interesting, which is probably an opinion that a lot of other people had now that this one's been mothballed. Maybe they'll tweak it and give it another try - I'd be game.
