Space Camper Alpha Vapor from Boulevard. 12 oz can left by Thanksgiving guest. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Reviewed 28/11/22. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Served at 45.6 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 55.0 degrees.
Appearance – 3.5.
First pour – Pale Straw (SRM 2), hazy.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), opaque. Under direct light, same. Rear-lite, same.
Head – Large (Maximum 5.2 cm, aggressive center pour), ghost white, high density with rocks, quickly diminishing to a ragged 1.2 to 1.3 cm medium density crown and thin, rocky cap. A few pieces of foam remain hanging on the glass.
Lacing – Good. Wide band with many small bubbles and an occasional window. The upper edge is lacy and leaves behind a multitude of tiny islands.
Aroma – 3.5 – Distinct citrus, primarily weak pineapple, and dusty. No malt, no yeast.
Flavor – 3.25 – Very weak pineapple, no malt, no yeast. No ethanol (5.9% ABV as marked on label) aroma or taste. No gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3.75 – Medium, approaching creamy, soft but lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.25 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated can) Really weak in both nose and flavor. Any time the palate is the best rated attribute … But hey! Free beer!

12oz can poured into a tulip
A- pours a hazy golden-yellow with a one-finger foamy white head that has good retention
S- slightly tropical on the nose with some mango and pineapple, followed by zesty citrus. Light bready malt undertones
T- light tropical notes follow the nose, some mango and melon, followed by a hit of zesty orange and grapefruit. Mid-palate gives a hint of bready malt that continues into the linger, along with more citrus zest
M- medium body with medium carbonation, foamy mouthfeel and finish
O- easy drinking, but most will find this lacking a bit in the NEIPA catagory. Doesn't quite have the juicy 'pop' as most in the style

Pours golden with a matte finish. Half in head. Not completely hazy, but not clear.
Smells hoppy with notes of grapefruit/pineapple. Not strong notes of either.
More tropical notes, very bland otherwise. Great Intro to IPAs for someone who wants to start. Great beer just lacking a punch in taste, and smell. Looks great though.

Pours a slightly hazed straw with 2 fingers of pearl colored head. Some head retention & lacing
S: Green melon, bready notes, guava once warm
T: Follows the nose, pretty dry, hints of strawberry & tangerine. Green melon & some pineapple, plus dryness once warm. Finishes with citrus & a little tropical fruit, plus dryness & grassy notes
MF: Medium body, pretty firm carbonation; good balance
Easy to drink, kind of middle of the pack for the style

On draft. Poured a cloudy, hazy, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of orange, grapefruit, sweet caramel and floral notes. Sweet fruity taste with toasted caramel and a piney bitterness.
