Notes / Commercial Description:
With roots in two of today's most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a cloudy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, grains. Taste is oranges, lemons, some wheat sharpness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a refreshing and solid summertime beer.

Extremely hazy bright orange-yellow body, coarse, soapy white head that leaves individual clouds of lace. The nose displays juicy citrus like orange, peach, and pineapple, as well as enriched bread, wheat, and yeast. The flavor balances the almost milquetoast bready malt and faint yeast with little spurts of the fruit, so that they are both distinct but work together. Very dry, and there is a bit of herbal bitterness on the finish that makes for a masterful finish. The body is medium, with too much carbonation that quickly fills me up, which is a shame because everything else about this brew makes it quaffable.
Fantastic! Everything is simple and restrained, which makes it much more than the sum of its parts. It isn't trying to stand out in a lineup, and that's what makes it stand out.

The appearance was a nice hazy golden yellow to slight lightly tinted orange with a one and a half finger white foamy to slightly bubbly (along the sides). This head died at a nice pace with a slight lacing here and there. The smell had a sweet lemon and light wheat and then comes a decent pine to citrus aspect. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to make a fairly good refreshing satisfaction. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation was exceptionally smooth. Honestly, this beer came across exceptionally smooth and crisp. Is this supposed to be this way? Overall, pretty nice to me even if there wasn't the wheat bite that I normally get in this style.

Good looking hazy wheat ale with a rockin 1/2 inch of froth on top. Scent is mostly wheat and grain with a good hop citrus. Taste is actually very balanced good sweetness to it almost like a banana to a hefeweizen. Good body to it as well very smooth and session able not watery.

Overall a nice take on the classic wheat. Impressed.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of sweet grain with a piney and citrus hop note. Tastes of wheat and banana with citrus hop notes. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

This beer pours a murky golden color. Head is white, and one finger. The nose is very strong with the hops, but I also get a faint "wheat" smell. The taste is very interesting. I get a blend of the hops bitterness, with the banana sweetness of the wheat. It's fairly mellow, but an interesting combination.

80 Acre Hoppy Wheat has a nice wheat and hops flavor. This hybrid is a nice, unique smooth brew that is well done. I've had other brews by Boulevard Brewery. This, so far is my favorite from them.
