Notes / Commercial Description:
With roots in two of today's most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. 12oz bottle best by 4/34/15 poured into a pint glass
A: Slightly hazy goldenrod color with a one-finger head that lingers
S: Exactly what the label promised - wheat but also a nice citrus/pine from the hops
T: Like the nose - wheat and hops, though no specific notes jump out
M: Light-bodied but bitter
O: Simple but tasty, would be nice to drink on the deck in the summer

A - Pours a cloudy yellow with a two-finger foamy white head. Lots of spotty lacing.

S - Aroma of orange, grapefruit, lemon, and a light grassiness.

T - Flavor is orange, lemon, grapefruit, biscuity malts, and a light earthy hoppiness. There is a nice lemon flavor in the finish.

M - Light bodied with medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth.

O - This is a very refreshing beer that is perfect for summer. The flavors are very well rounded. Very enjoyable beer.

Very nice hybrid beer. Good mix of hops & wheat. Not overpowering on either side. Very smooth. Good flavor. No strong bitter aftertaste. If you're expecting an IPA, it's not very piney, but would buy a 6 pack & be happy.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Nice head accumulation on the top with minimal lacing. At first smell, I couldn't pick up anything. It does have the citrusy bread smell associated with most wheats. I was a little underwhelmed. Its called Hoppy Wheat yet no smell of hops, no real taste of hops, and it looks like the IBU level is in the 20s. I expect quite a bit more for a beer with Hoppy in the name. That being said, it does have a different taste than a typical wheat. Its very drinkable and is a nice twist on wheat beers. Just wish they'd hopped it up a bit more.
