Notes / Commercial Description:
With roots in two of today's most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

Bottle BB 7/2/16. Hefeweizen glass.

A: pours an initially pale straw with 3 fingers fluffy white head; pouring the sediment in Tutsi things a milky yellow, but still transparent enough to see streams of carbonation flowing up. Settles down to a 1 finger foamy cap that retains very well. Lacing is very good.

S: blast of a bright, sweet, navel orange. Out of control citrus. A little grainy wheat, but just oozes citrus.

T: solid wheaty arrival, a little bubblegum, a little citrus, lingering citrus candy and light grapefruit peel. Hoppy, but never bitter. Can't be more than 15 IBUs.

M: heavier side of midweight, well carbonated, but the bubbles are small so it does not feel really carbonated; very clean finish; among the cleanest finishing wheat beers I've had.

O: this is a real winner. Very full-flavored and full bodied for a summer beer, but quite complex. Completely six-pack worthy.

Enjoyed from a pint glass, poured from a 12 oz bottle. 48F

L:- Pours a very hazy, translucent yellow to light gold. A decent thick one finger head which dissapates quickly. A fair amount of bubbles arise from the bottom of the glass. Leaves a soapy like lacing which slides down the glass.
S:- Wheat, a blend of light citrus nodes and a hint of spice. Similar to bubblegum or a light belgian in ways.
T:- Very clean and crisp taste. Low but pleasing amount of bitter, with a light citrus hoppiness that's excellently blended with a grainy, bready, pleasing barn like atmosphere.
F:- Crisp, creamy, and light. Perfect blend of smooth and crisp.

:- Extremely easy to knock back with a rich and pleasing taste (Quaffable as they say). Year round drinking enjoyability. Besides always being available, and at a more fare price, I believe this to be a better representation of a hoppy-wheat than some trendy competitors. Not trying to overdue itself with pricey marketing, but tastes delicious and sells itself as an excellent product.

Pours a very hazy golden color with a bright white frothy head. Smells sweet and fruity. Initial taste is slightly hoppy but mellow out to a sweat finish. Lacing is good, too hazy to see any carbonation. I really enjoy this brew and hope to find more next time I travel to OH, I don't think that this is distributed in WV.

Pours a hazy bright yellow, with a medium-thick white foamy head. Head retention is moderate, with good lacing left behind. Wheat, and pine hop notes form a simplistic, summer drinkin' aroma. Taste is lemon, with wheat and pine hops. Very easy to drink despite being labeled as "hoppy". Feel is medium-thin, and easy to drink. Overall, a good brew with some solid hop presence and yet it remains easy to drink.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

Ok. Had it when it wasn't super cold. Decent taste, pretty standard.

With summer beckoning, the flavors on the beer aisle are under rapid change. Shedding the malt richness and boozy punch of cooler fare, the Boulevard brewers bring two summery flavors together- wheat and hops.

Hazy gold and firmly capped, the beer's frothy, heady white cap soaks up the scents of lemon, lime, agave and juniper along with the common hop perfumes of grapefruit, orange and pine. Its taste sings a softer tune as its gentle wheat, confectioner's sweetness and light honey drizzle on the front of the tongue.

Its sweetness is short as its bready body breaks apart, allowing the grain and starchy creaminess to support the hops thereafter. White grapefruit, tangy orange, and piquant limes lead into a bitter finish of freshly torn pine needles, muddled herbs, spicy grasses and a bite of tonic water.

Medium-bodied and trending dry and bitter, the spiciness of the ale celebrates a long aftertaste of bitter grasses, citrus peel and a sprucy refreshment that renders the beer a ale version of gin-and-tonic. Its easy to see why this ale is built well for summer!

Pours hazy golden yellow in color with a fluffy white head. Smell is slightly hoppy, very mild actually. The flavor is about what you would expect. A pinch of citrus, and enough hops to take over most of the flavor, but not enough to make you feel like you're drinking an ipa.

It's a refreshing, decent tasting beer. No bells or whistles, and no real complaints either.

Hazey gold color with white head. Nose of wheat citrus and a bit malty. Taste is like a tame wheat beer with a little hops and lemon. Clean finish. Not a big fan of this. I like the attempt to make a hybrid but to me it tastes like a weak wheat beer that lost its hops.
