This Amber Pale Ale has a light to medium body. A well-balanced malt to hop profile gives it that crisp thirst quenching flavor.

It should be noted that the name of this beer is actually Off The Rail Pale Ale.

Anyway...when mine was poured into the pint glass I noticed only a one-finger thin white head that went away quickly. It retained an VERY thin white head from there. I didn't notice much lacing as I made my way through it. The beer started cloudy and then it cleared up to reveal an amber color with hints of gold and small bubble trails, but not a whole lot of activity.

Upon first taste I immediately noticed the hoppiness; not overwhelming, but hoppy either way to me at least. However this beer doesn't leave you tasting fresh-cut grass for a long time afterward or anything like that. During the swallow I noticed a high fruit/floral taste. The after-taste was fairly clean, but then turned into a hint of bread or biscuit; I couldn't decide which it leaned more toward.

All in all it wasn't a terrible beer; I would choose it over any American adjunct lager. With that said, there definitely are better brews at Blue Cat.

A- Dark amber with no activity and a thin white head.

S- Light hops no malt.

T- Light hop and malt balance, I'm struggling to find the flavors with a clean pallet. There is a slight yeasty flavor in here.

M- Need some activity and it's too thin.

D-Very drinkable and not recommended.

A tame pour. Amber, clear. No head.

Smells like...eee...diactyl. They butter is balanced out slightly with some light, English hops, but it's not enough.

Tastes pretty much like it smells, only the hops are thankfully more present. Kick of butter up front, moving into sickly sweet butter, and then halfway balanced by some spicy Euro hops.

The other beers I had were a lot better, and a lot stronger. I think this is a case of a good brewing trying too hard to dumb down his beers to cater to a wide audience. Really, there's no need to try this one. There's some much better beers you could spend your money on.

This was poured in a pint glass at the brewpub. The color is light amber with a decent head that is nicely retained. The aroma is malty without much trace of hops. At first I thought this might be the temperature it was served at, but as it warmed up a bit, the scent didn't improve at all. Upon tasting, the flavor is well balanced. The hops and the malt are equally present, but perhaps the hops win out in the end. There is a slight hop finish also. It has a medium/light body with moderate carbonation.

This pale was just okay. American pale happens to be one of my (many) favorite styles and this wasn't very notable. If the aroma was improved I might have been inclined to try another to get a better opinion. However, there are other beers at this brewpub I find more interesting.

The beer was a nice amber/gold with a thick full head and good lacing.

Smell was limited to some light toasted malt flavors.

Taste was pretty ordinary. A slight bit of toasted malts and almost no hop prescensce at all.

Mouthfeel was light and thin.

Drinkability was pretty average on this one.
